interesting...well, the issue being that most of these animators are likely Chinese citizens and language barrier might be a big problem. Defo getting some tips to achieve the same level of fidelity and ask how did they progress so fast in just a few years.

RIGHT!? Firebird was a beautiful sequence, I just forgot the name of it till after I was already done with the edit. There's so much beautful animation work in both Fantasia films and I really wish they made more of them. Looking at the current release pace, we won't see Fantasia 3 till 2060 which is NUTS. Unless they do a sequel for the 100 year anniversary in 2040 which would be awesome but I doubt will happen because Disney is more money than soul nowadays I will go cry in my corner dreaming of a world where animation returns to a golden era

I agree completely with the spinning shot, i felt the same way but you had the words to explain it. It really does feel like she is out of place because the water is much more fluid than her.

Thanks for taking the time to do a double react. Definitely wouldn’t consider these two to be heavy hitters in the world of Arknights and game animation but it’s still nice to appreciate the details and work they put into these smaller pieces and the moments really hit me in the 2D animation.

If you are looking for other interesting animations to react to outside of Arknights, I would recommend the 25th anniversary Yugioh Card Game Chronicles animation. It was created by Konami’s new in-house animation studio

I believe the 2nd animation is actually a fan animation, not an official one. Spring Gala Festival is the community event filled with fan-made only content.

Minor question, when talking about the tall rice plants, did you consider that they're jostling roughly because the guy is running through them and not becaus eof the wind? Not sure if you considered that effect.

It's more how they react to outside force in general. There's definitely a difference in how they react to touch vs. wind, but in both their physical properties feels a bit floaty. It's more an issue with their physics engine settings than anything, but still something that could've been fine-tuned a bit better.

honestly, i almost feel like Shu herself feels out of place in some parts of the 3D shots - like her model has less texture to it than the highly detailed plants around her

Tbf the people who did the environmental assets were cracked on this one. Feels like UE5 with that level of fidelity

Yeah, the texture of the environment in the 3D trailer is called PBR (physical base rendering) types so it clashes with Shu's hand-painted texture alot. They could use planes for her hair so it would look much more realistic to go well with the environment, as well as change a bit of texture with her clothes and horns. But still the lighting is darkened so the uncanniness is not as highlighted out as you see at the end of the trailer, so they did a goodjob in the rendering part.
