I'm an artist and animator working in TV animation. I sometimes create short animations completely by myself, and often get asked how I make them. Animation Stuff is a series of videos where I takes you through how I achieve different parts of the animation process.

What the fuck lady? I am completely mesmerized by ALL of your videos and shocked that I could find this one 2 years after you posted. Extremely great content, superb quality work. Sad that Gravity Falls is over, otherwise you would definitely get a spot on the show. Keep up with the awesome work. You rock!

You did something you avoid, that's so exciting! Those are the greatest hurtles as as artist. I used to never want to do backgrounds either until I learned a few things that made them exciting to try. Sometimes that thing you avoid turns out to be a major missing puzzle piece.

Amazing as always, but I feel that when the sun rises the stars disappear too quickly. I think its more gradual, but I might be wrong of course and it might change based on where in the world you are?
@AndreaGerstmann
@AndreaGerstmann 7 жыл бұрын
I just did whatever I thought looked okay, I'm definitely not an expert. I know dawn and dusk last longer the closer you are to the north or south poles because the sun travels closer to parallel to the horizon rather than close to perpendicular near the equator that makes the sun rise and set rather abruptly.

Amazing. You may have covered it in another video, but what is the size for the psd art you export to use for animation? I use Toon Boom Harmony, and my imports often get pixelated when I zoom in. I couldn’t hit subscribe fast enough after this video. I am going to absorb your channel! I want my backgrounds to be this awesome.
@AndreaGerstmann
@AndreaGerstmann 4 жыл бұрын
If you are zooming in on a background you need to make a rectangle around the most zoomed in part and make sure that section is at least 1920x1080 pixels for it to not be pixelated. I usually make my whole background 8000x4500 and that's usually big enough for most zooms.

you are correct, but if I made the moon the proper size it would be so tiny. I took some artistic liberties and made it huge.
