i'd remember my mother and other family members watching galaxy express 999 on the tv, it was one of my first anime as a child as i was probably only 1 or 2, i would be snuggling next to my mother whilst watching the anime as she'd read out the subtitles on the screen (i couldn't even understand a thing haha) I had started to re-watch the anime in my free time, the anime itself and the legend, Leiji Matsumoto will have a special place in my heart.

Lyrics: There's a train, that travels through the night, To the world, to the sea of light. And the shards of our dreams Fill up an endless universe. We must go cross the bridges, That will take us to the stars. All the people of this world Look for wonder and for joy Like crusaders at the edge of their souls. 'Til they find a wishing star, the adventure will go on, An eternal journey stride after stride. Keep waiting for the day You will find it come what may, Paradise - Your blue little bird. See the train, across the galaxy, To the world, to the end it goes. It will stop on the way There's a station set on every star. Travel far on the railway, It is made up from your dreams. In the lonely hero's gaze In the eyes of pioneers See their life is set to go up in flames. Like the never-ending song, playing deep inside their hearts, An eternal journey stride after stride. And waiting for you still Is the blue and little bird, Just beyond - The crying stars. All the people of this world Look for wonder and for joy Like crusaders at the edge of their souls. 'Til they find a wishing star, the adventure will go on, The eternal journey stride after stride. Keep waiting for the day You will find it come what may, Paradise - Your blue little bird.

Thanks a lot for your great job, for the auto-generated subtitles miss some lines. I'll put the lyrics into Japanese for Japanese listeners later...

Great translation adaptation of the original lyrics
You know, I quite never sing. But in 2012 and even year-2 later I was singing "Galaxy Express 999" composition nearly every day with manly tears. "Galaxy Express 999" is one of my favourite anime works, but even without that, this cover is absolutely phenomenal, brilliant. One of your greatest arrangements and covers for sure. Thank you, Rasmus and Platina Jazz, for making it. hats off to Leiji Matsumoto. What a Legacy.

Excellent cover by Platina Jazz as always! I just started watching this show after putting it off for years. I saw the first and second movies in English two decades ago on the SciFi channel late at night once and they instantly became my favorite anime movies of all time. I always say I love Galaxy Express 999 but since I've only ever seen the movies, I feel like I don't have the right to call it one of my favorite anime of all time until I actually sit down and watch all 113 episodes followed by those two movies I adored 20 years ago. Time to sit back and ride the Three-Nine into the stars above!
I had forgotten this anime existed! It was such childhood. And dear God, this theme was always so good. Excellent cover!
