なつかしい❗60年ぶりに観られて嬉しいです。3歳頃に観たものは、かすかにしか覚えていないものもあるけど、徐々に思い出してくるから、不思議なものです。

Oh, before that they were literally just japanese Fleischer cartoons. At this time, the remnants of the american cartoons influences was the big eyes and cartoony body shape.

子供の頃観て、今も好きなのが沢山あります。ジャングル大帝、カラーで観たかったな(当時はとても高価で裕福じゃないと無理)、ビビのスタッフ、小松左京、平井和正、冨田勲には驚く。ロボコップの元祖エイトマンも大好きだけど歴史から抹殺されたのが悔しい。狼少年ケン、サスケ、鉄腕アトムも懐かしい。グリコ三部作で全国の少年少女に生涯忘れ得ないグリココールを刷り込んだ電通、許し難い。

Its to the disgrace of the anime community that a lot of these don't have any sort of English translation, not even fan-made ones. Seriously people? Freaking Kimba doesn't have fansubs? (I'd argue Susume Leo needs them more though).

It's because a lot of people don't give a crap about old animes tbh, I mean one of the only people who like these vintage animes are mainly people who want to preserve them. This also gotta do to the fact that these animes are very unpopular in the western audience, so of course western anime fans (mainly English speaking ones) won't even bother to translate these.

@@pinhead62 Right, but who knows how much of the original experience and story the English Dub is getting across? Sixties anime dubs weren't as bad about rewriting or censoring stuff as, say, something from 4kids would be.... but they were often made very quickly (each episode of Speed Racer's dub was produced in like three days, for instance), and this meant that sometimes issues cropped up. That said, Kimba's dub might be fine. It's Kimba's sequel, Susume Leo, that needs fansubs more than anything as the English dub of THAT is incompetent. Not because of rewrites or censorship but because the dub sounds like it was made by people who had no idea how to act.
