"Didn't his sister like Kirito?" Yeah, the original story is, they're cousins raised as siblings. And she's got a crush on him. In abridged, however... well, let's just say, you can suddenly understand _why_ Kirito was such an "unbearable asshole" in the beginning of the series.

Shit I forgot how brutal Sugu is in this one (Is it Sugu? Her name and the villain's name are too close, I always get them mixed up, the sister I mean xD). And I love the father, Asuna's racism isn't just a joke, it gets woven into her backstory pretty well in a few lines. Her dad is a psycho hinted-racist asshole who only values money. Explain how sheltered Asuna grow up and what values her father instilled in her. My favorite joke in the episode is said father calling the Ferrari guy "Enzo" just like he called Sugo "Versace"!

Something about the voice Sugou uses for Asuna in the Hospital scene causes me literal physical anguish; like what he says is reprehensible of course, but arguably no less than the rest of the show aside from context. It's the voice itself that forces my hands to my ears like I'm listening to screeching metal

The scary thing is that people actually do hurt themselves pulling out a catheter, when they clearly shouldn't. I know this because my dad, in his dementia and mild fever-induced state had one while he was dealing with a swollen prostate. Yet, at one point, he apparently didn't feel he needed it any more and pulled it out. Yes, even with that swollen prostate. After going to the hospital for it, the doctor couldn't understand how he was able to stand the pain that he must have gone through to do it. It happened at least a year ago and remembering it still makes me cringe. So, yeah. It surprisingly does happen, and not just by accident.

I'm just thankful that they are going through this reasonably quick , annoying arc , mostly for the whole Leafa and Kirito romance sub plot and dealing with the whole Nobu being creepy and rapey for about 12- 13 episodes , it is satisfying how thoroughly he is made to suffer by the end . I would have understood if they skipped it , but they have made Alfheim arc alot funner than the original arc for....reasons you will see soon. Feel I should mention that kazuto does best his sister in the sparring match , by using a move from the game, proving an upcoming point about sao and in the game about abilities translating into the game and....vice versa.
