I'm going through One Piece with a friend who's watching for the first time. I remember finishing Skypiea with them and telling them it's considered a divisive arc in the fandom and their genuine reaction was "Why? This is the best arc yet!" I'm glad that you're also having a great time with it too.

It does need to be acknowledged (maybe) but when Oda was asked about what his favorite panel he had drawn in the story, he revealed that it was the image of luffy and the others dancing around the campfire.

I genuinely can’t recall any moment where characters are not running through a scene unless it’s the scene that is changing. One Piece is the best!

32:00 nah bro, it's the cutest Chopper and Usopp moment 🥹 Chopper being so scared that Usopp will get mad at him for breaking the ship, and Usopp holding his feelings on the ship to make sure Choppers ok 🥹 They all care about each other, but some of them believe in others more, their still new to trust each other and know the others care about them more than the things they obviously care a lot about. It's almost like when Luffy put his hat on Nami's head, everyone knows that The Merry is Usopps baby, but she's also just a boat, Chopper is a living creature who just went through something tramatic, that was a trust building moment for them.

5:28 While this is a nice thing to point out, I also love how it goes against expectations at this point. Normally, after seeing a scene like the one before, you'd get a slew of situations where Chopper almost blows the whistle, only to remind himself that it's for emergencies only, and then maybe he'd lose it when the priest shows up and there'd be a tense situation where he'd try to get it back, but nope. Chopper barely has the thing around his neck for 5 seconds, and something shows up that is genuinly important enough for him to blow the whistle, and he immediately does.

I love One Piece so much! Whenever someone says in front of me their favorite Anime is something else I ask them if they have seen One Piece? I mean I understand if they love another Anime more for a good reason but seriously One Piece is the undisputed best to me! Everything is peak the visuals, the characters, the story both each arc and the overall saga!

Honestly a little surprised that the song playing in the background of episode 166 (called Family by the way, and it's sung by the Straw Hat Pirates' voice actors) didn't get a win. It's not a big problem for me at all. I just assumed a little extra something added to the episode would have gotten a win.

It’s funny to me😂 I’ve always thought there was a clear ‘chain of responsibility’ among the men in the crew that goes Zoro > Sanji > Usopp > Luffy > Chopper. They’re all insane and goofy, but whoever is at the top of the chain will suddenly take over the roll of ‘responsible one’ if the next one up in the chain is missing or incapacitated. It’s the reason why Zoro only acts like a true chaotic entity when he’s going solo. It makes me think of a bunch of brothers in a family

I have a lot to say so I will be doing several comments here but dont worry no spoilers. I really like how you can see Oda being inspired by others like DragonBall or Castle in the Sky but also he clearly inspired a lot of other Anime and Light Novels with Attack on Titan's movements a clear example! But others were certainly inspired in other ways...

Not sure if you counted but if you do 5 episodes a week only we are going to be here for nearly 4 years. The later episodes have less content (due to the anime catching up to the manga) so hopefully the pace will speed up a bit.
