I was supposed to mention this last time but forgot to. So, remember the swamp guy that Chopper beat? Well, as shown in a cover story the anime doesn't adapt, Chopper knocked him all the way down to the Blue Sea, where he, through a series of events that can only be described as somehow, he opens a hot springs resort on an island near Alabasta and has his mole person friend that he meets along the way dig an underseas tunnel between it and Alubarna, Alabasta's capital, and Vivi and King Cobra are seen visiting it on occasion.

I still to this day, do not find Enel a big deal. Sure he has a Logia Devil Fruit, but so many people can counteract that now.

Once you get to the new world it’s not so special but in the paradise section he’s a god, also you’re forgetting how insane the combo of his “mantra” with its unbelievable range and his devil fruit are. He can literally sense where people are and hear what they’re saying even when they’re miles upon miles away from him and he can attack them from anywhere while being completely safe himself. He’s like the ultimate sniper but he uses nukes instead of bullets and he doesn’t have to see you. Plus you add his speed into the equation and he can get away from most people who are actual threats cause he can literally sense them coming from miles away and move as fast as lightning.

Lightning has often been associated with divinity; Zeus, Thor, even the word Enel uses 'Kaminari' has the word 'Kami' (god) in it, it's no wonder that in a land of the sky and clouds Enel's power and similar intangibility to that of Ace, Smoker and Crocodile grants him also a god complex. The fact that he can just blip in and out anywhere really adds to the fear Oda puts into him, there is no place safe from him and he has not a single shred of doubt in the outcome. but Skypeia also has no shortage in comedy, all of Luffy's silliness is just amazing

@@patrickpihl5198 it does, we tend to refer to gods of lightning as 'Thunder Gods' too though - even Enel's fruit name mimics the onomatopoeia of thunder (Goro Goro no Mi) - which is why it's often referred interchangeably

Just a note u might have missed. Zoro always gets lost. The crew is suppose to go south to get to where Robin is. And he has a south bird showing him the direction but still goes the wrong way lol

I have always seen Wyper as the dark version of remembering your history. He’s so focused on the past and avenging his people that he doesn’t realize he’s ignoring his people who are right there. When Gan Fall came for peace, Wyper got in the way. Gan Fall rightfully said to Wyper this place has been home for the Skypeian people for 400 years he can’t just give it back. Wyper is literally becoming the enemy he hated, trying to displace people who have nothing to do with his conflict. Their grandfathers weren’t even alive yet when it began. He’s hurting his own people who are literally afraid of him, and what’s worse he’s passing on his bigotry and hatred on to the younger generation (Aisa). This is not how you should remember history.

11:09 I REALLY love how Robin’s fight with the big guy here and the pirate in Ape’s Concert (when he took one of the kids as a hostage) both show how RUTHLESS Robin can be when pushed. This guy got his fingers bent backwards, slammed into a tree, thrown off a cliff, and got his NECK SNAPPED on the way down! Ms. Nico Robin can and WILL murder your ass if you push her hard enough.

Side note about the trial survival rates, they aren’t a representation of each priest’s chance of survival. They’re a representation of how many people have survived them already. Ohm’s Trial of Iron doesn’t have a 0% chance of survival, there just hasn’t been anyone who managed to pull off surviving yet lol.

@@AnimeWinsyes and no, considering these guys are shown to have a gift of foresight to predict things, saying their survival rates could also be taken as intimidation. Such as “I predict that if I fight in the ways of my trial, I’ll always let 0% of people through”. But as for straight statistical information you’d be correct.

@@AnimeWins yes in the fact the math itself doesnt lie, no in the nature of the stories the numbers tell. Hypothetical example: an ordeal could have a 0% not because the ordeal itself is that deadly, but that across the last 3-4 ordeals, the pool of candidates to make it that far has been non-existent or so weakened down that a light breeze could defeat them. It matters for the sake of narrative, and how the numbers are twisted into confirmation bias. Easy to forget that, at the start of the journey through the land of the vearth, the crew only had 3 trial choices, meaning some of these trials come AFTER others for normal victims who follow the paths as laid out. With that context in mind, the numbers only tell the first story on those first ordeals, and anything that occurs after them is no longer isolated or independent. But all of that is just the theoretical side of things. On the practical narrative level, it is simply an intimidation tactic meant to spell out the relative danger of each, which is where most of the "yes" argument comes in.

@@AnimeWins Not necessarily, for some of the reasons these other folks mentioned. But also because an incidence rate is different from a survival chance. Like, say a doctor is performing a surgery that generally has a 50% chance of survival but that he hasn’t lost any patients in his previous attempts. He’ll have an incidence rate higher than the average survival chance even though the base odds of surviving the particular surgery are still 50/50.

Dont remember how well the devil fruits are explained until this point in story so im gonna put it here for everyone to ignore if this is useless info: DFs have 3 main categories, Paramecia, Zoan and Logia. Paramecia fruits give the wielders superhuman abilities such as Buggys and Mr.1 devil fruit Zoan fruits lets the wielders to transform into animals like Dalton or in rare cases like Chopper gain more human properties (altho choppers situation is quite weird thanks to rumble ball) Logia fruits lets the user to turn into and use different elements or other less than tangible things such as Smokers smoke, Aces fire, Crocodiles sand and Enels lightning and one usual similarity of all logias is that you cant harm them without special means like sea stone or finding their weakness like water/blood against Crocodile.

One of the many best things about One Piece is they tell an adventure filled with wonder, action, and humor. But the Skypeia Arc also leaves a lesson to its viewers for anyone who notices about how different races have no need to fight over land but can share it and even if they have been fighting for 400 years they do not have to keep fighting for revenge. As long as those on at least one side like Gan Fall regret the past, apologize and try to change things reaching peace is possible... But it would be easier if Luffy was there to help LOL

If you'll remember, we saw this guy, Ohm, sitting in a field filled with skulls on pikes in an earlier episode, and later on, Luffy, Ussopp and Sanji came through that same area after passing the Ordeal of Balls, while Ohm was elsewhere. After that, they got to the altar, and there was only one way in. That means that all of the other priest's ordeals eventually lead to Ohm, and as such, no one has ever successfully completed their Ordeals and been able to leave.

The main drawback of logia ironically has lies in what it does to the user's body, as they tend to feel very invincible, growing very arrogant and cocky as you saw with crocodile he couldn't really deal with it when luffy found a way around the defense his fruit provided him

A lot of people feel the arc drags a bit at this point, with Luffy stuck in the snake and such, but I find it better than most other long running anime so it gets a pass. There's plenty of action and character development, plot twists etc. Some fans are just a bit impatient for the big climatic battle being delayed.
