This ends with nothing going according to plan when regardless of his academic knowledge of social science, people behave differently than he predicts, causing him to dig himself deeper and deeper with his imaginary games of mental chess. MC's initial harem consists of a girl who thinks his antics are funny, a rival genius who was forced to go through the school system instead of skipping ahead, and a girl who is concerned for him because she thinks he's mentally disabled as a result of some form of brain damage. MC of course doesn't recognize the affection any of them hold for him because he thinks relationships are all precisely calculated maneuvers hidden within layers of subtle non-verbal cues.
