Jyotiraditya Scindia is a third generation politician currently serving as Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel in PM Modi’s cabinet since 2021. He is a member of the upper house of parliament from his home state of Madhya Pradesh and has also represented Guna parliamentary constituency in Lok Sabha for more than 17 years. Scindia is an economics graduate from Harvard University and has an MBA from Stanford University. Prior to entering politics, Jyotiraditya also worked with Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch as an investment banker. He is also a cricket enthusiast and has served as president of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association. In this edition of ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, Scindia talks about how he joined mainstream politics after the sudden demise of his father Madhav Rao Scindia in 2002. He also recollects his memories of his grandmother Vijaya Raje Scindia, who was one of the founding members of Jan Sangh. He also talks about his relationship with the Gandhi family and reveals reasons why he left Congress to join the BJP. Scindia also talks about the INDIA alliance and terms it as a group of political entities who want to serve their own interests instead of serving the people. He also talked about initiatives taken by the civil aviation ministry and exuded confidence that the BJP will win the upcoming state elections in Madhya Pradesh.

We had the oppurtinity of meeting Rajamatha Vijayaraje schindya in 1976 during emergency in karnataka. She was so simple, humble and down to earth. We students sat around her and chatted with her like old friends.The few hours we spent with her can never be erased from our hearts.I sang a Tyagaraja keertan and she said I should never give up singing.❤Jyotiraditya is her grand son .🙏

I studied from The Scindia School, one of the premium boarding schools of India. I'm proud to have him as His Highness(which we will always call him). Met him many times and he's an absloutely fun person to be around. He has an abundant knowledge and love for the sports is insourmantable. I'm being a National Swimmer of India when I met him, he was elated to represent India and Scindia at national level and gave me a fantastic tip to my sports - "stay focus like the way you're now. I must say that JS is one of d jwelles in PM's cabinet. He has brought the truth ( past n present) to light. Very honest n bold personality. I as a banker worked at Shamshabad a village in Vidisha dist. MP from July 1994 to June 1997 n experienced d trouble of electricity supply road ....... Great interview as always! You see, many times we discard the privilaged ones with "Oh what would they know about a common man's hardships!" But conversations like these try to delve in the lives of people who have to stand continously on stage no matter what. They have to keep the show going on irrespective of what they feel about it, because so many people look up towards them as a 'Leader'. What a lovely interview with this one man Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia that I wished to hear from (after he finally left the Congress party and joined BJP and Mr. Mody), and must say he has tremendous talent, charisma and looks of his dad and thought what on earth was he wasting time with the most senseless people of the Congress party for so many years.I was impressed by the way he spoke and his knowledge about the dept and work he is doing as an Aviation minister. My father w has known and worked with madhavrav ji and his death was a shock for all of us. I still remember his face when he heard that news. I am so happy that Jyotiraditya chose to leave congress. Congress doesn't let a true leader grow unless they have the blessings of gandi parivaar. There was a time that I looked up these young leaders ( Sachin pilot, jitendra Prasad) as future but then suddenly these leaders were out of picture Wishing him all the best.
