@gagswag I think she has been honest about all that in the past. Watch her interview with Simi Garewal. It is heartbreaking and you can see she was still in love with him at that point when he had already married Twinkle. But I think Raveena has moved on now and is married with children so maybe she doesn't want to bring all that up at this point. If she starts talking about her heartbreak again, it will just create unnecessary headlines. Out of respect for her own husband, it's better that Raveena doesn't talk about her past heartbreak with Akshay. Everyone knows that she loved him a lot but he was not sincere and didn't value or appreciate her. It's good she has moved on, so what's the use of talking about it now? I think Raveena should just make it clear before any interveiw that she doesn't want to be asked about Akshay at all. He does not exist in her life now, not even as a side character!

@44:08 it was sridevi who was called thunder thighs after the release of Himmatwala because she was curvaceous. Raveena was called jinx because until Mohra she did not give any hit. Dilwale was an average. But rest all were superflops. I like Raveena and thats why watched this long podcast. But her examples or take on nepotism was karan johar level. See, none of us are telling you to not to launch ur kids. But dnt keep forcing them on us for eternity. Uday chopra, tushar, ananya pandey, fardeen khan etc and many more kept doing films on films but neither those films were working nor they were good actors, but still only because of nepotism they lasted for decades. But thats not the case with an outsider. Dsnt matter how talented he or she is , first they rarely get chance and if the film flopped, then they are out. You cant compare nepo kids with doctors/lawyers kids. They literally study for 5-10 years even to get benefitted by their parents.

With due respect to actors, please invite those who have made a significant contribution to our country or have achieved something extra ordinary. I say this with no bias. They have several platforms to tell their stories of struggle & success, that are no doubt inspirational to many. We look forward to other achievers or influencers on your show. Both Aruna Iraniji and Raveena Tandon are my favorite actors. I agree that a few rotten apples shouldn’t be the reason for a complete boycott. It’s an industry that contributes to our economy in a big way and a huge source of employment. And, actors and other technicians work hard to earn success, wealth and fanfare. Having said that, Bollywood did need a wake up call!

Entire hall would start whistling and shouting at her entry. That song was like an item song. But she didn't look cheap at all. Very few women have this potential. Again she did Tu cheez badi hai mast mast which is even today criticized for its lyrics but Ravinaji never looked cheap in it. These days item song starts and you suddenly want to run away from the theatres. Girls should learn how to be classy and dignified from women like Ravina ji.

Thanks Smita ji for this episode but, I would like to add that people are not against Nepotism in Hindi movies ,rather people are against the groupism and the mafia culture that has hampered the film industry. If ,we are so proud of our country then films that are demeaning our faiths, beliefs and culture should be condemned. Freedom of expression cannot encourage such acts . I like Raveena Tondon. And, nepotism do exist in other professions. But, I felt she exactly not knowing when people say - nepotism in Bollywood. We have nepotism in South Industry but audience are ok with that. Because people accepted them because of their performances. In Bollywood, it’s highly criticised because producers give chances to the star kids again n again even if their acting is not appreciated by audience (example - Ananya Pandey or Janhavi Kapoor). Also, new comers get less opportunity compared to star kids from well established production houses. No doubt, if someone’s parents are stars. Their kids will get easy entry. And based on their performances, people will watch them. After all this nepotism discussions and OTT platforms and content creators, new faces, new talents are coming out. More than nepotism from Bollywood, it’s entertainment media and PR agency and of course the audience or fans of those star kids responsible than the Bollywood people. Alia Bhatt is too the product of Nepotism but her acting skills in Highway, Gangubai, Raazi etc. had got the genuine love from the audience 🙌
