Atatürk is the leader that we love the most. He is the reason we are not like one of the arabian countries. no offense to arabian countries but he encourage all the youth the follow science. he said if I ever say smt that contradict science, follow science. that kind of a leader is really hard to find these days all around the world. 😉
@chasna45467 жыл бұрын
pelllin If you believe people only found science after the Republican era you are wrong. Some of the best scientific schools that could even rival the European ones were during the Ottoman Sultanate. There were astronomy schools and studies starting from early Ottoman rule and even before that. During the rule of Sultan Abdulhamid II European who visited Ottoman schools were astonished to see the scientific equipment they had - like microscopes for every student. The University of Istanbul is from 1453, Istanbul Technical University is from 1773, Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts is from 1882 - Founded by Mimar Sinan, Marmara University is from 1883. The volume of publications, literature writing and even the complexity of language went downhill after the Republic. Because of language reforms there wasn't even one book published for decades. And many of the Ottoman archives and books were sold to Europe as toilet paper by the Republican party. What science and knowledge were you talking about?

Ottoman Empire Ataturk accomplished great things in Turkey. They built bridges, planes, cars, railways, factories, schools, museums and many more. The most important thing he's done is give freedom to the Turks who were slaves during the Ottoman Empire, he gave women the right to vote, go to school and work. If you think Ataturk has done nothing you're uneducated and want to go back to slavery. The Ottomans were a family and your family were their slaves. If you want to live under Sharia laws go live in an Arabic country. Anyone who tries to wipe out Ataturk and bring Sharia Laws TURKS will rise again, there will be war.
@suemark69347 жыл бұрын
Ottoman Empire in the past 15 years Turkey is run by uneducated morons who don't even speak well Turkish, I don't even think they have a diploma it's a joke. So, I live in Ankara, just two sugestions: Kızılcahamam (a city that has a national park and many natural minerally rich hot water Turkish baths there.) Also the Turkish baths there are really cheap. (Kızılcahamam - Büyük Kaplıca is the name of the one owned by the government) You can check this on web then decide to go or not. The other is to definitely go to Hamamönü (a histrorical place full of old houses and litlfe shops and ancient mosques)

I want to inform you guys about Ataturk and what he did for our country. Ottoman Empire was an Islamic country and the head of the state was Sultan or Padişah also the Caliph. He abolished caliphate and sent Sultan to exile. He established The Republic of Turkey which is based on secular democracy. He gave women the right to vote in 1934 before most of the European country's. Ataturk's reforms made polygamy illegal and Turkey was the first nation to ban polygamy in the Middle East. Turkish people were using Arabian alphabet but it was not efficient enough for Turkish language. He changed Arabian alphabet to an adapted Latin Alphabet. He established Turkish Historical Society and Turkish Language Association. He built us a more modernized and more civilized country. And more importantly his motto was "Peace at Home, Peace in the World".
@chasna45467 жыл бұрын
Tamer Akyüz I do not know what is there to brag about the fact the he destroyed one of the biggest and most powerful states of the time for an artificial republic under the rule of the British Empire - The British left Istanbul after it was sure that their puppets would be able to carry on their reforms, in October 1923. Lord Curzon actually bragged about destroying the soul of the Turks and after the Republic he said Turkey is dead and shall never rise again. Women got the right to vote because nobody actually voted as there was only one party to vote for and even then the counting was done in secret. The language reforms maimed the language and left most of the country illierate and no book or scientific work was published for decades. A state with great poets, artists, architects as Mimar Sinan, some of the best doctors, hospitals (the first animal hospital was built by the Ottomans by the way) and universities became a third world country built on fascism...but a democratic republic by name..so you will be proud. Archives, Books, Art - were loaded in trains and sold as toilet paper. What amazing people are these British, they not only colonise and rob your country but they also make you hate your past and identity and make you want to be like them. "The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history." (George Orwell)
@tamerakyuz33557 жыл бұрын
Can you name a democratic country in Europe except the British Empire at the time? Germany, Italy, USSR, Spain, Greece ?? You criticize one party system but you never speak about absolute power of the Sultan. in 1927, right before the language reform literacy was 10 percent and after the language reforms in 1945 it was 30 percent. It's not that hard to learn how to read Ottoman script. I would refute your arguments, but I can not express myself well enough in English and I can't send links via KZbin comment to prove my points. I'm going to leave it to the readers to choose between secular, democratic Turkey and Islamic Ottoman so called Empire.
@chasna45467 жыл бұрын
Tamer Akyüz I was only responding to your arguments about women being able to vote and the Republic of Turkey being founded on the democratic system. I, myself, am not a supporter of materialistic, secular, liberal, or whatever you like to call them, regimes. Democracy was highly criticized even by the ancient Greeks who were considered the "founders" and inventors of its priciples. Plato categorized different Greek governments in a hierarchical, devolutionary manner: An oligarchy leads to a democracy, which leads to tyranny. Plato stressed this idea, repeating it often: -Democracy leads directly to tyranny.
@chasna45467 жыл бұрын
Tamer Akyüz And that value of 10 percent, where did you find it? I only found some statistics for each vilayet and the lowest literacy value was about 50%. Forgot which vilayet it was though.. Some vilayets had more than 90%..
@tamerakyuz33557 жыл бұрын
If you found the statistics that Kemal Karpat published. The vilayet you speak about is Diyarbakır but that statistics shows ILLITERACY so it means 10 percent of literacy.

Ankara the capital of Turkiye is the most important location and city for Turkiye. Anitkabir is the most importance for Turks because of Ataturk is the legand for Turkish citizens and this continues till the end of the world. but Ankara has many nice stops and sightseeing. for instance Hamamonu has old Ankara houses. u can see that. and Kizilay square and famous Tunali Hilmi street. and there are many parks. Kugulupark, Genclikparki, Altinpark, Goksupark, Mavigol, Mogan Lake park...etc. And Beypazari houses were inspired by old ottoman houses articetchure like Ankara castle houses and Hamamonu. Did i see Atakule Atatower. or Kizilcahamam Soguksu National Park? or Very big second big Salt Lake for Turkiye. Turkler Ankarayi sevmez ama ben seviyorum. Buradan istanbullu olmayip Ankaraya laf edenlere sesleniyorum. Gidin kendi koyunuze. Biz Ankarayi seviyoruz.
