You missed the biggest difference between the two which is Anker's very low solar voltage input limit. For home owners who want kilowatts of solar input this is a deal killer

Thanks for sharing. I think AC coupling is another difference to consider when making a decision between them as it determines whether the product can work with your existing solar system or not. Seems like Anker F3800 does have AC coupling as it suggests on its website while Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra does not.

Thanks for the great review. Another channel tested the inverter efficiency of both the F3800 and Delta Pro Ultra. The F3800 used 23% of its usable battery capacity over a 12 hour period just sitting at idle. They also tested the actual usable capacity at 6670 kWh (with extra battery) so that's was a loss of 1534 kWh in 12 hours or 3068 kWh per 24 hours. The EcoFlow DPU was much better at 7% with a usable capacity of 5620 so 393 kWh in 12 hours or 787 in 24. This is capacity that has to be replenished by solar, the grid or whatever. I'm looking at either the F3800 or EcoFlow DPU strictly as a critical loads home back up system. My intention was to have either connected to our main panel through their respective smart panels so we'd have an automatic transfer in the event of a grid outage. Those inverter efficiency tests were eye openers and frankly something I've not considered. Our usage in Winter months averages 20 kWh per day and 30 kWh in the Summer due to our 4 ton AC. I planned on 2 F3800's (50 amps) so that inverter loss would be doubled so a whopping 6136 kWh per day! That's adding 30% to my Winter electric utility bill just to keep 2 F3800's charged and at the ready. The EcoFlow DPU is much better draining 7% of its capacity over 24 hours but that's only 1 inverter which limits me to 30 amps. If my understanding is correct then it doesn't make sense to use either in the strategy I intended. What might make sense would be to use a generator inlet with a main panel interlock or something like the Reliance 6 or 10 circuit manual transfer switch and turn off the inverters until needed. The question then is what is the draw down rate of the batteries when the inverters are not powered? Do they lose 1% per day, 2% or ? This method complicates things as then I'd be responsible for battery maintenance to ensure they don't discharge to zero capacity. Am I interpreting this correctly or is there something I'm missing? @@loluog I answered it myself by installing both the Reliance 50 amp 10 circuit transfer switch and the Reliance 50 amp generator inlet box. I bought the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra with 2 battery modules and everything works perfectly. When the DPU is turned off it loses no capacity. If I shut it off with 60% remaining and then turn it on weeks later it still has 60%. Some would argue the F3800 has a more robust low frequency inverter and that could have advantages in certain applications but the high frequency inverter of the DPU appears to be much more efficient. If our power is out and we're on battery power I do not want 23% of the battery capacity exhausted just keeping the inverter operating and not powering our circuits.

@@robertbaron3242I have an existing setup of the same transfer switch and generator inlet that connects to my Tri fuel portable generator. Would I be able to just slide my generator over, slide Ultra in and plug into my 50amp inlet to power those circuits already wired into my transfer switch? And if so would I require a step down plug (50-30amp) in order to plug into the Ultra?

11:00 So I use 85kWh on a low energy day says bge. I would use a 2 week unit in a day? If my number and thought is wrong, how long would a 85kWh day last? Worse, how long would the battery last on a 209 kWh day in winter??

85kw a day is a lot of juice. An awful lot. That’s 2550 KW in a month. That’s boarding small businesses in terms of energy.

thanks for putting together this comparison as im currently considering both of them. One correction I wanted to point out the Solar input of the Anker is higher with the smart panel. 3800 Watts solar input with one unit and 6000 watts solar input with two units. Still less than eco flow's offering but stronger than 2400 when paired with the smart panel.

Great review with a lot of information. Two specific questions for the Anker and the EcoFlow … 1. Do the Home Power Panel (Anker) and the Smart Home Panel 2 (EcoFlow) support the use of GFCI and AFCI breakers ? 2. If I need to supplement the battery capacity of each device, how/where do I go about plugging in my portable generator ? Thanks !

I have x2 f3800 and 1 expansion battery. My home is nearly 2000sqft and my system turns on at 2pm and doesn't turn off till the next morning around 6am. On Average I'm around 40% SOC before my rooftop solar starts charging the system again. I plan on purchasing a extra battery every year till I'm at 20,000 wh. which should keep my home running for a few days if my grid fails

Which setup can best handle the starting load of a 2hp 230v 1phase water well pump? I read somewhere that the LF (low frequency) inverter of the 3800 is better suited to handle surges during motor startup. So the eco unit may not have a LF inverter?

You did not cover warranty or support issues. There have been reported issue as with eco flow on web- not as many for anker…

Great comparison. I was puzzled by the Power Consumption example. I think the average home in the US takes in about 29-30 Kwh in a day. I am not sure where the 3.8 kwh is coming from. Thanks.

That was Anker's estimate based on a limited load during a power outage. I'm not sure where they got the numbers from either but it seems like EcoFlow used the same comparison

Yah I am glad another noticed this, it's marketing hogwash. I did a quick analysis from the power company for our family of 4 in the midwest over the last year. We use on average on average 31.2 kwh/day, and some months we peak around 50 kwh/day. Maybe in the event of an outage you scale back to just your critical loads, but 4kwh for a single day is lean.

No, but there is a limit to the number of batteries per inverter (max 5). Also remember more batteries = devices will run longer, more inverters = more devices can be powered at the same time.

I really want to go eco flow, but have existing grid feeding solar panels, and so that almost makes my decision for me AC coupling, how did eco flow miss that?

I am like you and I choose the Ecoflow DPU because with the smart panel I can charge the system using AC current from my grid tied solar system, also I have two stings of off grid solar panels to charge my DPU.

I have the 3800. It has 3 UPS 120V ports which can be used while it's charging on 120V or Solar. 240V might work on solar charging only, but don't quote me.

only for a short time per a vid i watched on YT someone tried using the f3800 to charge a nissan EV and it tripped off after about 15 min. It was drawing too much power for the f3800 to handle

So you provided examples of multiple high wattage appliances being used, but with multiple inverters vs. multiple batteries. Could you not add 2 Ecoflow batters and not have to pay for two inverters? What would be the difference?

Yes, you can add multiple batteries with a single inverter. The difference is adding batteries will let you run your devices LONGER before running out of power. Adding an additional inverter will let you run MORE devices at the same time. Hope that helps!

Well done on the comparison video! Does the Anker f3800 Nema 14-50 port output at 50 amps? I thought it was 25 amps. I thought having the Nema 14-50 port was to make it more convenient for charging EVs.

Why would solar and home power charging at 3,800 watts charge in the same time as solar alone (2,400 watts) (2 hours). Another review stated that the F3800 will not charge with both AC power and DC panels simultaneously and will default to AC. 🤔

Equal flow figures 0 last about 10 years. Maybe a little more before it gets to 80%.. Or another word to say the last year about thirty yeand so does the thirty eight hundred generator. So if you take care of it don't run empty every single day especially with fifty four kilowatts each of us is thirty years.

There is no solar, no other power to anchor lasts 2 days. That's if us in your power like normal. The Delta pro ultra will be about 4 dayes. If you have no son, no power and if you use a power like normal but if you take a little more. Knowledgment of what you're doing and it is a blackout and there's no sun. The anchor 3 dais that equal to Delta pro. Ultra? Will last. About a week. Give it a Day or two.
