Back in when a hurricane hit here in texas when i was little, we were out of power for about 4 days. Water still ran but there was a boil water advisory. We had a generator where we powered the fridge for about 2 hours a day for several days. I recall this one time we plugged in the TV, Satellite, and Fridge and we would watch a movie while my dad had gather charcoal days prior, and we cooked up all the meat first so it didnt spoil. We had canned food. So while when it cooled down, we would power up some appliances and other stuff, turn the radio and party. My dads beer was warm but he didnt care

I live in Florida in about 1400 square feet. I would be interested in a system that could handle the basics, including my refrigerator/freezer and 1 window A/C unit. Can you discuss how long this will last using solar panels and how many solar panels you would need to get? Thank you

What size window unit? If we know how many watts it pulls and the size of the room then we can estimate.

the AC unit is tough. Having anything branded like anker or ecoflow would cost you a lot of money (but they ARE simple). For cost effectiveness i'd recommend DIY power and solar system a 1 kWh battery could power a 1kW AC for 1 hour. a 200watt solar panel could fill a 1 kWh battery with around 6 hours of bright sun. you can use these basic parameters to estimate how many panels you need. for the system to be complete, you must also consider getting the cables, controllers, and inverters

We live in the same area and have the same concerns and use case. Currently have a tri-fuel generator that we’d use natural gas with if another Ida comes through. Would love to get one of these but they’re darn pricey. Does the 50amp connection run say a 4ton ac?

It does for me, but you'll only get a half hour of run time with this battery lol You'll need tons of batteries to make it a day or so running HVAC

So glad I came across your video. Also from southeast Louisiana. Hurricane Ida and this recent Tornado storm that came through scared me. My partner and I are looking into getting one of these. Do you think you could run a welder off of the 220?

What’s the power draw of the welder? This thing can handle 6,000 watts of continuous output but the capacity can only do that for about a half hour.
