I broke my fibula & tibula, had surgery on both sides 10 days ago. I'm able to put about 10% weight on that foot right now. Swelling has completely gone but there's still discomfort as to be expected. Stitches out soon though so I'm hoping that'll help. Honestly the worst part is laying down all the time, I'm bored outta mind 😂 Anyone going through the same thing, i wish you a speedy and good recovery ❤️

I’m going through it now left leg 5 weeks last surgery PT Mondays and Thursday. Stitches out, moving more, pain meds. Hopefully back to work 3 more weeks. Even had a external fixator for 2 weeks that suck. But only temporary remember 👍🏼

I thank God for life and being here but this has got to be one of the most uncomfortable feelings I’ve had in a long time. I had this same surgery on the 13th. I’m so ready to do my physical therapy and go back to walking normally. It’s definitely an uphill battle but you got this bro just keep your faith and head up. It’s gonna get easier for us both. 🙏🏽

I think the swelling and stiffness is the worst for me. And the stiffness behind my knee ..I'm not able to use my scooter since I can't bend my knee. I almost weeks post op so at this point it's more discomfort instead of pain. My leg has atrophied and feels really weak . I hope to start PT soon and get my strength back

I fractured my ankles growth plate from Crashing into a fence while sledding . It was me and my neighbor and we both we’re on the sled and my ankle hit the fence first so it somehow fractured the growth plate 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I have to do crutches for 2 months and the cast for 6 months (there was still snow and crutches don’t have very much grip)

I'm the whole way to the Tibula 😢I broke 3 bones had a dislocation so they put the wire in. And tore a bunch of ligaments as well. Im 10 day's post op and it's still painful. The swelling is what causes the pain and im sure having like 28 staples isn't helping either lol I hate this so much😢

When I was 11, I fell 50ft off of a cliff and sheared both my tibia and fibula right above the ankle, and due to 2 crappy surgeries I now have arthritis, walking issues severe pain, and the tibia and fibula have fused together above the ankle. I am 22 now and will need surgery in the future to either immobilize my ankle or replace it entirely

@@sahairarojas9487 hey don’t be scared, I had 2 surgeries 11 days apart. After surgery just elevate foot and take pain meds. Not much you can do physically so keep mentally occupied. After cast removal I ordered a cold pack boot from Amazon to help with swelling goes all over your foot and ankle area.

@@BoneDoctor_KZbin It's been a really long process, i went back to orthopaedics last Monday and they have FINALLY referred me for physiotherapy so hopefully I'll be able to walk longer than 10 minutes at a time without crutches. I have 9 screws a large plate and 2 tighropes so it's been a lot to recover from. My doctor was surprised i hadn't been referred before now.

Unfortunately, friend, chronic pain, following traumatic ankle injury is relatively common. Even with simple ankle sprains, up to 50% of people will have pain, stiffness, or other symptoms later in life.. Hope all continues to improve 🙏
