I'm guiding through a short (10 minutes) ankle mobility and coordination routine. All you need for this practice is your body, mat, and your attention. Let's follow along and get your ankles moving!

Improving your movement therefore means improving your health and life. 3 key things are: 1) Daily movement practice to improve movement quality (MOVE WELL) 2) Incorporate good movement into daily activities (MOVE WELL AND MORE) 3) Awareness and mindfulness of your movement and lifestyle (MINDFUL MOVEMENT)

I apologize for the audio issue in this video. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to position my mic that won't affect audio through various movements in various positions. If you have any tips/suggestions for this, please share with me!

Extremely challenging exercise for my left ankle! I have to block my left knee otherwise wants to follow the movement. The ankle seems stuck. It's like learning to walk for the first time!!! Second time I did the exercise it was better and the left ankle more flexible. I will repeat this for sure thank you!!

This was a very useful set of movements.i had a bad sprain a few months back and my ankle was still missing some movement and strength It seemed better after these. Initially it was painful to do then the pain went and it got mobile and stronger. Thanks!

Definitely felt my right knee, hip and lower back loosen up with this one (once I was able to get the ankle isolation down lol 😅) Thank you ❤️

This is fascinating. I've been suffering from heel pain for over a year and have been diagnosed with Achilles tendinopathy the plantar fasciitis. PT and treatments haven't helped. Doing this seemingly simple exercise revealed that I have much less control on the side with the pain - it sort of flops and twitches when moving in either direction. Is this a strength issue, a brain communication issue...? I think this is revealing but I don't know the answer. Thanks.

I would guess that is related to neuromuscular control and coordinatiob more than strength issue, meaning you can focus on restoring smooth coordinated movements of your ankle.

you mean the front shin muscles or called anterior tibialis? if you can do seiza sitting, Japanese sitting, that will stretch those muscles

@@1x1HealthyEnergybyAndrew did you have any trouble with this video? i personally prefer to talk as i guide through movement. I feel more natural and authetic this way.

@@TaroIwamoto it sounded like the mic was brushing up on your hoodie or pants when you were leaning forward so it affected the sound at some points. But it didn’t ruin the practice.

very good suggestion! I do pause and go through movements in my class, and my own practice, but I make videos as short and concise as possible per request.

@@TaroIwamoto ah, maybe just a reminder at the beginning that The most potent learning and change takes place with pauses. I love what you’re doing making it accessible. I forwarded this to my daughter but told her I would need to talk to her and give her some pointers as to how to make it more effective.
