Literally one of the greatest videos I’ve ever seen. I’m one year post-stroke and I have severe spasticity in the posterior tib. I could never really find good ways to stretch it out. This is brilliant, thank you.

Man I've had the worst spasticity down my leg but mostly in my toes/feet/ankle area. The tendonitis pain sometimes is almost unbearable. It never seems to be the same pain in the same place each day. It takes a concerted effort to get out of bed each day. I just really hope the constant forcing myself to use the leg/foot/toes through daily brisk walking and back pedaling (I have to walk/move backwards a lot to force the toes to stretch out) since I can actually do it without crushing my toes/tearing tendons.

I am a patient of post surgery hemiplegia and doing these stretches from last 1 year but my spasticity is still reducing. Please suggest me the ways or other exercises so that I could reduce my ankle spasticity. And also make a video on the difference between foot drop & foot spasticity as I’m still confused whether my foot is dropped or spastic🙏🏻
@PostStrokeOrg2 жыл бұрын
@thegmshow, You may want to watch my newest video that covers exercises you can do to reduce foot drop. I also explain how both muscle weakness and spasticity BOTH contribute to foot drop. You can watch it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2PSXnyDjaaCgdU

Thank you for the specificity exercises, do you know anybody with a stroke that also has chronic 24 seven neuropathy pain, which seems to give them weakness and lack of motivation. Somehow if I exercise one day and go to therapy and occupational therapy the next day, I’m useless or lease. It seems I’m useless very very weak kind of a electrical, feeling like a magnet, pulling me down even my cell phone weighs like 4 pounds and I think it’s only a couple of ounces. This mental state is very hard feel like I’m being pulled to the Ground by a magnet. Sometimes my limbs feel very heavy at times any advice. Guys is here a wonderful your channel is wonderful. I’ve had a stroke now a year and two months and I’m still using a walker. Very frustrating.

Thank you for these exercises 😊💕 does spasticity ever go away fully with regular stretching or is it something that needs to be maintained? Also I find it that lack of sleep worsens spasticity.

I have been exploring a few methods to recover from spasticity and semiparalysis after my stroke.I came to know about electro acupressure but am not sure if it will be of any help in my recovery.It will be super kind and helpful if you could shead some light on the effectiveness of acupressure in post stroke recovery.

What do you think about using devises like AFO'S and the L300go? Perhaps you can give more details on your thoughts on your next video.
@PostStrokeOrg11 ай бұрын
@joaquimrodriguez8961 Thanks so much for your question! I can't answer this outright for every person because every individual is going to have different needs. Generally speaking though, AFOs can make quality of life so much better. And it's not that someone can't still work on regaining dorsiflexion (lifting the ankle) even if they have to wear an AFO during daily life to function. As far as devices like the Bioness L300, electrical stimulation can be really effective. But it's up to a treating therapist or physician to determine if it will be helpful on a case-by-case basis. I hope this helps! ❤️

My ankles roll how do i suppose to strengthen them
@PostStrokeOrg2 жыл бұрын
@jarrielhunter, Any exercises that target ankle movement will help to strengthen. Adding cuff weights around your ankles could be helpful, too, to provide more of a challenge. Talk to your doctor or therapist for something more specific to your situation!

Thank you but how can I stand on my bare feet if my toes curl? I don’t think I can manage this.
@PostStrokeOrg2 жыл бұрын
@marianneg, For now, you could just focus on the first two stretches. And you can wear shoes during these stretches. I wanted to keep my feet bare to show how my ankle was moving for this video. Hope this helps!
