@@CDU916 A childhood friend of mine became an NYPD motorcycle police officer. He worked the Radio City Music Hall beat and met his future wife there. She was a Rockette and I had the pleasure of meeting her last year in SC. I asked her who was the nicest celebrity she worked with and without hesitation she said Ann Margaret. The sweetest, nicest and most respectful star ever. Said her husband, the actor Roger Smith was also a kind man (but very protective of Ann and who wouldn't be?). She said this about Ann: As beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. I have no doubt that's 100% true.

As a young girl growing up in the 1960's, she was my idol. I thought she was the epitome of beauty and talent. I'm not surprised that her warmth and sweet nature came naturally to her. George Burns, who "discovered" her, could clearly see that too. They were each others' biggest fans until his death.

This is a star who had genuine humility. And she really, really appreciated her fans. I think she could have done a lot more with her career, but she seemed happy and satifieed with what she did do. And she cared for her ill husband Roger Smith until he passed. God bless Ann-Margaret.

I have loved her since I was a little girl & my mom took me to see a movie she was in! After watching her in “Bye Bye Birdie” & that extraordinary opening number with her in a yellow dress running towards the screen, turning around, looking at the audience over her shoulder, then rushing towards the screen again, with the sky blue background...all the while singing the title song in that adorable ruffled top & “ski pants” with stirrups they called it( I HAD TO HAVE THAT OUTFIT & MY MOM GOT IT FOR ME WHEN I WAS 13 yrs old!! Six brothers & sisters but my mom found the money somehow knowing how I idolized ANN MARGARET, the movie & wanted that outfit! Ann Margaret is a “true woman of substance!” She is multitalented & just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! She is just so darn cute too & what a dancer! I admired her way back then as I do now! What an amazing woman!♥️

@@jochenstossberg5427 I didn’t read anywhere , where it said the lead character ( “Kim”) was supposed to be 16 yrs old ! A senior in high school, was what the script read, back then. “Seniors” in high school are normally anywhere from 17 to 19 yrs old, or can be 16 “if they were in a “gifted/excelerated class, skipping a grade “possibly” or could be even 20 or 21 yrs old technically, if they happen to have stayed back, so “age” is extremely “flexible.” 🤣 Ann-Margaret was only 22 yrs old , when she read for this part( making her a ⭐️ star) & hardly was “way to old to play this part! “ Sorry you didn’t like her in this part but I absolutely loved her in this part & looking at all the positive comments both here ( plus through the yrs) and overall popularity of this movie…..so did hundreds( thousands, etc) of others, loved her in this movie! I want to add the movie “Mama Mia” also supposedly called for a “young woman” to play the lead part. Meryl Streep told everyone on a evening talk show back then, that after seeing the play on Broadway with her daughter, she immediately decided that she wanted the lead part in the movie, when they made it! She immediately got the part too, regardless of the age of the lead character. She said “some people remarked that she was to old for the part” but laughingly, Meryl rightfully said “ that she could care less what others said!” She wanted that part & she got it( she won all kinds of awards & so did the movie) for “Mama Mia!” I say “good for her for she was perfect & fun to watch in this movie”, just like Ann Margaret was in another favorite movie of mine “Bye Bye Birdie!” 😁Two great actresses & two great movies! It is what makes life interesting Jochen! Everyone has a different opinion & are entitled to theirs, just as you are! Me? I think Ann Margaret was perfect in that movie & love, love, “LOVED” her in it!❤️Take Care !

She is a woman of the highest caliber. She volunteered for so many years, entertaining our extraordinary veterans, accompanying Bob Hope to many far flung corners of the world! I have read time & time again posts from our vets, thanking her for repeatedly make the long trip to entertain them, in Vietnam especially, but to so many other areas & bases as well! Bob Hope was extraordinary, too. Loved watching this video so much!

Ann-Margret is exceptionally beautiful and talented, but she was only 30 when this was filmed. Perhaps they should have waited until she had lived a few more years and had a longer career to honor her.
