I can’t help but think of that very cold snowy day in London, February 1963 in that cold studio where the four of them created a magic that even now 50 years later we are in awe of. It almost seems mythical now.

Which I don’t understand. We all know the only reason people buy them is to get that specific sound but Gibson changed so many of the crucial aspects that made its sound so unique (such as replacing the plywood top with solid wood - I believe the bracing is also different).

@@thomaspappalardo7589 The bracing is different, I believe the changes were made to minimize feedback. I've never played a true J160 with a pickup that worked. I imagine it would sound very dark do to the placement
