The depth of Anna’s character. She is a very emotional person (no wonder she became and actor). You can see the slight panic on her face after she kisses him. Like ‘what did I just do? How will he react?’ But he indirectly assures her with his apology in regards to the ‘sureal but nice’ comment. The way she looks at him as he tries to give her something to drink/nibble is also quite endearing.

The keyword of the kissing scene is "surreal", right? 9:32 Now rewind and take a closer look at the fridge with all the magnetic poetry tiles 8:23 ... there it is, just a bit to the left of the screen's center. And that's no coincidence. I LOVE that movie!

Priyamvada Arte - This scene is still unrealistic to think about it, because not many people had mobiles at the time, but an actress of her calibre should have had one- My sister must have been one of the first people to have a consumer mobile phone in the UK, about 1994- (I remember being horrified because it cost her 60p a minute to make a call at the time)- I on the other hand hated them because I thought they were so impersonal when I would overhear people's conversations in public, and didn't get one 'til 2002 (when it started to get embarrassing not having one).

This is a movie that me and family often watch when we are all together - my dad always complains, "oh no, not this chick movie again," and then ends up being the one who laughs the loudest at all the funny scenes. Particularly the ones where Will pretends to be a journalist from Horse & Hound. The perfect feel-good movie!

It’s a comedy which is genderless but the romance shouldn’t be just for women, men like romance too.

Yep. Fabulous movie. Incredibly insightful dialogue. Wow, you're a star: great dialogue, a reference to Turkey, a grubby bit of Dylan Moran and a tender first kiss to remember. Thank you, Gang of Youths for inspiring such a nifty lil find.

I've watched it about as much as the dinner scene, but both of those only half as often as the "indefinitely" scene. ♥

misz Sonobella that movie is terrible. The guy has 0 personality throughout the entire thing; she calls him all the way over to her place when she has interviews and he says nth about it, it doesnt even look like he was bothered at all, she cheats on her boyfriend with him and still he apologizes. Then she runs to him with a problem and he takes her in as if nothing has happened and that whole boyfriend thing never happened. And let’s say all that was fine, let’s give them the toxic boyfriend storyline .. after SHE goes to him, she has the audacity to yell at him and accuse him of using her situation for clout . I’m genuinely shocked by how all this was overlooked . And it’s not even the end of it, right after she disrespected him and clearly stated that this was a mistake, he tells her he loved it in the most polite way ever. Then, a few months after he was humiliated, he (AGAIN) goes to her with a huge smile on his face and waits for her to finish the scene. He hears her saying he was just an old friend and she doesn’t know why he’s here, he leaves, rejects her for 5 mins, before he goes running after her again. At the end, in the conference, she acts like she was the victim and he says he was an idiot and he wants her to stay ... and then they get married . good lord what is that ? I’d understand if you watched the movie a long time ago when you were a kid, there’s nostalgia attached to it but I watched it a few weeks ago for the first time and I couldn’t believe people recommend it. It exceeds bad and if it was made today the filmmakers wouldn’t have heard the end of it

After watching the movie so many times, this was an ideal opportunity to observe the attention to detail: at 10:43 Julia Roberts is blushing after the sudden kiss, which is exactly what would happen in real life. If you see the closeups a few seconds before that, she has a bit of makeup but no blushing...
