Oh, yes! People used to tell me I was wierd because I LOVE to shop alone, even my family didn't understand! But I know what I want and when and others only slow me down when shopping, plus the drama, if they want things they can't afford or can't fit in/are not their style and I had to listen to them complain for hours...no thanks! First of all, When Anna starts her video with "my dear elegant ladies" and not "hey you guys" it makes me WANT to watch the video, not like most other KZbinrs! She sits elegantly in front of the camera, with no crazy hands all over the screen. I much prefer to shop online! It's peaceful, no sales reps following you around. If I need help, I will ask kindly, but, please, leave me alone while I am shopping in-store. In the winter I wear cashmere at home, cozy and warm, but I would like to see a video on how to look elegant at home. Thank you

Irina Longley the only issue I have with online shopping is that you don’t have the option to try on multiple sizes or how it would pair with an outfit! Sometimes there’s too much choice online also and I get a bit bored scrolling. There’s something nice about walking around and picking out a few things that stand out to try on. I agree though, sales people can sometimes be a bit too keen to help when really you just want to browse without any pressure

Your words are so true. In my younger professional life I had my colors done and paid for make up, clothing consult and shopping outing. I returned 80% of the items within the week but the key items lasted years. I also have always budgeted for a tailor and changing out buttons, repairing of shoes, switching out heels, bag repair. I still have a jacket and pair of shoes from that time 20+ years ago. Although the work wardrobe went to consignment when I left that career/country I kept the habits I learned. For my 50 birthday I had my make up habits updated. Always invest in yourself and shop alone.

Yogurt and honey masks. Honey and cooked oatmeal masks. And wear SUNSCREEN! Reapply. And remember sunscreen is about 97% effective. Not 100%. So wear shade. UV rays set scars and cause deep wrinkles. See dermatologist Dr Dray’s videos on skin care. She has many videos and I think they are very useful to know. For example, do not mechanically exfoliate facial skin with scrubs. A gentle washcloth is the most mechanical exfoliation your face and neck can handle. Only use fragrance free products on your face. See her videos. She goes into great detail on different ingredients.

I cannot express how much I love the fact that you kept repeating, repeating, repeating to only buy what you need, buy classic shapes, and buy as an investment to use for years to come. I probably counted this theme repeated about 10 times and it cannot be stressed enough. I was born dirt floor poor so shopping at Goodwill was where it was at for me. The first time I made an effort to mature my wardrobe I purchased a classic peacoat from Target on sale. It actually fit me (I'm petite) so despite the cost compared to Goodwill I snapped it up! 10 years later I have shed every single one of my Goodwill items and replaced them with second-hand Eddie Bauer or Niman Marcus or whatnot. Turns out even rich people donate their clothing and all of these items seem to land up at second-hand boutiques for higher-end fashions. My wardrobe had shrunk to about 10 shirts, 5 pants, 3 dresses, and assorted accessories but each and every single one of these items fits, looks great, and is my color palette. And, I still have that peacoat from Target. It's actually now the lowest-priced item in my closet despite lasting so long!

This may be an unpopular opinion, but shopping from the sale rack at H&M did me wonders! Of course I always check the material and the cut of the garment, but being plus size means I get the gems of their 'business woman line' for cheap. As a former alterations expert, I have a few comments on getting items tailored to get the most from your money. Pants are the hardest to fit . Hems and minor tweaks to waist and hips are doable and affordable. Get pants to fit as close as possible. Coats and blazers, shoulders seams should hit properly, sleeve hems and tweaks at the waist are doable. Welt pockets are not movable. Make sure they are placed properly for your body proportions. You can save a lot of money buying clothes that are a close fit but expect to pay for a full overhaul if you buy too big. It's like remaking the entire garment. Also be prepared to pay for knowledge. Buying designer clothes means the inside of the garment probably has many layers of support that will have to removed, modified and put back in to maintain the integrity of the garment. Hiring a hack to work on your investments will only lead to heartache and wasted money. When you level up, you can just have your clothes custom made and this won't be an issue then! 😉Love your channel, advice and your pink top!

Great idea and recommend it, but it's sometimes hard to find the quality fabrics unless you live near the New York Garment district. It is difficult to buy on line as you need to feel the fabric to tell if it's top quality. It's not like it was many years ago where fabric stores were abundant.

This is such practical advice, Anna. Even for people who aren't into the expensive, high status kind of look, your whole attitude to mindful shopping is something we can all learn from. Thank you!

At first I felt attacked by your videos in the beginning, but then your intelligence and logic has also grown on me as I started watching more and more of your videos. Sure we may not agree on certain beliefs, but for fashion we are on the same page. You have helped me elevate my look and I have actually got so many compliments from plain Janes and affluent women. Thank you so much 😊

honestly speaking!! i had accidentally found her video when I was searching for " elegant ladies Look".. since then, I cleaned up my " not wardrobe" but only simple closet.. I gave away my cheap clothes... and guess what? only fews are left! meaning, i invested a lot for cheap clothings instead for really good quality as I learned from her ... now I started step by step to change my style into an " elegant Lady"🥰🥰🥰

Dear Anna, thank you for making your videos. They are not only very entertaining and informative but you also speak a lot about conscious shopping which is so important not only for our wallets but also for the environment. It is so refreshing to go over to your channel and see a straight to the point video with no adds comparing to the other channels where they can have 6 adds in a 10 min video plus sponsored content. I have unsubscribed from so many channels recently because of this.

Anna - in a video I watched recently, you asked for another term for "high society", a few that came to mind are; upper echelon, distinguished / luxurious (circles/culture/company). PS You are tremendous. Keep up the great work in bringing class and elegance to all of us who aspire to be at our best as ladies! There is so much powerful strength in our feminine energy, when we truly embrace it. Thank you for being YOU!

I’ve been patiently waiting all year for the winter sale! In previous years I realise I wasted money on items I did not need. So this year I didn’t buy on summer sales or Black Friday, now I’m so excited because I’ve saved so much and will be able to find specific items that will last me through the next year!! I am happy that you are advising on this subject as it’s so easy to just buy impulse through out the year-this is a habit I have stopped doing and truly noticed a great difference in my wardrobe and look ❤️

I am male and have referred my female coworkers to your channel. One young lady really loves your feeds. Shes so stylish and fashionable. I'm a big thrifter myself and tend to find name brand items for my woredrobe brand new! Key pieces like nice burberry trench coats, jeans nice sweaters etc. There is a thrift store by me that I found a Yves Saint Laurent three piece suit for under 20.00. So unreal. Tailoring and having it fit to your body is key as well. Knowing what you need and what you're looking for is important. Your advice and channel is amazing. I pray all the ladies on here have a great New Year and hope you look your very best; achieve all your goals❤🙏🏾👛👠

Hi dear Anna. Thank you very much for speaking honestly about what we need. It is very tempting - especially online - to buy many things, but they really have no quality and it is a bad waste of money. I prefer, as you say, invest in quality, good fabrics, and above all, that they are classic. This extrapolated to any purchase (shoes, accessories, beauty etc.) By the way, I also love black 😊 I always bought a lot of clothes in this color because it seemed to me - and it is - very elegant. Although for years, I prefer more other colors, such as blue, pink, especially warm tones. And I have to tell you that pale pink feels wonderful, it makes your face glow ✨

This is absolutely perfect timing Anna thank you! Also you look lovely in this video, that shade of pink wonderfully complements your complexion 💛

I do a lot of these things already and have saved so much in the past. Also worth noting you can get a lot more mileage out of things by getting them repaired and professionally cleaned. For high end classic items this is often cheaper than replacing them. My husband's 25 year old watch, for example, would be considered vintage now but is classic and timeless. It cost 3K for a service recently but it is double it's original value and will last another 25 years or more as it was well made back then. Also, when I buy shoes I get the leather soles reinforced with an extra rubber layer to ensure they are easy to wear and remain free of stains. I use an insert in my handbags to keep my small items organized and to keep the bag lining pristine. There are many things you can do to ensure the things you do buy will remain new for longer. A penny saved is a penny earned.

You should reeeeally purchase an etiquette book. All of those things are in there. It's too bad that people boo-hoo those types of things as old-fashion or "doing too much" but they really aren't. Understanding appropriate etiquette allows you to know how to comport yourself anywhere without offending anyone and how to put your best foot forward.

This lipstick looks much better on your than the previous one, I love it. I tried taking clothes to a tailor, but they just keep refusing to study my clothes, it is not always possible with the way a piece was made. So I don't buy things assuming I can adjust them, it could be a waste of money.
