【福井の苔寺】平泉寺 白山神社の散策 : 【Moss Temple】Walking Around Heisenji Hakusan Shrine（Fukui, Japan）

福井の苔寺の愛称で親しまれている白山神社を散策いたしました。広大な境内には美しい苔が宝石のように敷き詰められていました。時間を忘れてただただうっとりとしておりました。
【Heisenji Hakusan Jinja】
Heisenji Hakusan Shrine (平泉寺白山神社, Heisenji Hakusan jinja) is a Shinto shrine in the city of Katsuyama, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. In the former Modern system of ranked Shinto Shrines, it was a prefectural shrine of Fukui Prefecture. Noted for its mossy gardens, the shrine gardens were designated a national Place of Scenic Beauty (名勝) in 1930 and a National Historic Site of Japan in 1935.[1] Its main festival is held annually on April 20. The area is part of Hakusan National Park.

福井の穴場の名所と言いますか、個人的には福井で1番のおすすめスポットです。 この映像の場所から少し離れた所に、当時の僧たちが住んでいた住居跡群が残っています。 石畳の道や石垣や堀などが発掘され、まだ全容は解明されていないそうですが、 それでも当時の世界にタイムスリップしたかのような感覚を感じられます。 歴史好きにはたまらない場所のひとつです。

苔寺といえば京都を思い出しますが、福井にもこんな優雅な苔寺があるのですね。まるで柔らかな緑の絨毯のようです。綺麗な水が豊富にしみ込んでいるのでしょう。石段や灯篭にも苔が育っているのにびっくりです。木漏れ日があふれる参道の杉並木も壮大で、天を見上げて深呼吸したくなりますね。お蕎麦と苔寺を求めて福井に出かけたくなりました。いつも素敵な映像をありがとうございます。

こんばんわ いつも こちらの動画を見ていると心が落ち着きます。 平泉寺白山神社 そうですね、ここも歴史が古く始まりは平安時代ですね。 幾度となく戦乱に巻き込まれて 比叡山の末寺にもなってますね。源頼朝がいた頃は、ものすごい規模を誇っていたらしいですよ。僧兵なんかも たくさんいて、寺領8000石 木曽義仲の倶利伽羅峠の戦いにも この寺が出てきますよ。その後も時代とともに戦乱に巻き込まれ、戦国時代は、越前の朝倉氏の傘下に入っていますね。その後、朝倉氏滅亡して一向一揆で灰になったそうです。 今の姿になったのは、豊臣秀吉が復興してからです。でも その昔8000石あった寺領も330石まで減らされ建物も少なくなりました。 恐れていたんでしょうね。 明治時代になり、廃仏毀釈の神仏分離令で寺号を捨て白山神社となり、さらに寺の建物が解体されたと聞いています。 こういった、幾度となく戦乱に合い悲しい歴史のある場所は、今となっては逆に美しい場所であったりもします。 大切にしたいですよね✨

Anna I suppose everybody is falling in love with Japan. I certainly do. Funny, in the past I always had Japanese friends but for a long time now, I have none. And then I discovered Kurosawa Akira and Mifune Toshiro and it just kick started my interest anew with Japan; and the culture and the country and the people. Then, I met on KZbin Aty the ottter and his lovely Japanese owner and got to see Japan's lakes and rivers with Aty and Otterman as he calls himself in his films, and then I saw one of your films.. I am enchanted, again. I started to learn Japanese and I need a friend. But in this isolation I think this time it will be much harder to get one. Anyway, thank you.

Here I am struggling to grow 2 inch square of moss to add to a terrarium. And then this shows up in my KZbin feed! Now I have serious moss envy. As usual, beautifully shot. In fact, your videography is so amazing that at the 2:42 mark, you can see the thread of a spider between two trees.
