*recently updated* FAQs (please read before commenting a question!): What size hook and yarn did you use?: Size 8 hook (aka a 5 mm hook) and size 4 medium weight yarn Which yarn did you buy?: www.joann.com/big-twist-collection-value-worsted-yarn/zprd_14371116a.html How many squares do I need to make?: 6 20x20's per color, 1 19x20 per color (excluding the hounds tooth which cannot be done in an odd number), and 1 18x20 square per color What is the size of the squares?: the 20x20 square is 5"x6" How much yarn should I buy?: I used less than 1 skein of the yarn I linked above. This may depend on what you buy, as the skeins may be smaller than what I purchased How will this fit me?: I am 5'5" and wear a Medium, so start by making the layout I provided and adjust accordingly What pattern should I use to put the colors together?: I didn't use a pattern, use whatever you want :) How do I put it together?: you can use a sewing needle or a crochet hook, as I showed in the part of the video where I make it for myself How do I attach the sleeves?: First, sew your panel together to form your sleeve. Then, use your needle or hook to sew it onto the back/side panel that has already been sewn together. Keep in mind that this may require you to bunch the sleeve, as the sleeve is larger than the arm hole. If you don't like the look of the bunched sleeve, feel free to add another square to the top of your side panels (making the short side have 2 squares and the long side have 5. Once you do this, you should see the cardigan take its final form!! How do I attach/make the ribbing?: I linked a video in the description on how to make the ribbing. To attach it, use your sewing needle or crochet hook to attach it to the cardigan How do I attach the ribbing to the sleeve?: Use your needle or hook to attach the ribbing. You will need to bunch the sleeve to create the "puffy sleeve" effect. What do you mean by "bunching"?: You will need to sew through two or more loops/stitches of the larger piece, and attach it to one loop/stitch of the smaller piece. jolina michelle hey! I just finished it yesterday :-) took me a little over a week and i made some modifications to the pattern. Instead of doing 2 rows of 20 on the sleeves i just did one and i added an extra square in both the side panels so there was only one at the top instead of two (i hope that makes sense!) i also did all my edges as blue!!! But i LOVE IT! Perfectly oversized and sooo warm. Follow youtube tutorials for the crocheting but YOU CAN DO IT! xxx
