Thanks for the informative series Anna . Being able to charge at home is an absolute must , and rarely leaving the parish , and think of a car as an appliance in the same way as a fridge or toaster , and maybe a good choice , otherwise…… You made it back with 0 % remaining , but what if you had to go off somewhere ? and that was your only car ? If mine was short of petrol, I could go to a petrol station and splash some in, in a couple of minutes, and get where I needed to go . Not wait hours for a home charger to put enough in . The truly “greenest” cars have 1ltr 3 cylinder engines.

As an automotive engineer, I wouldn't own an EV until they double the energy density of the current Li-Ion battery which means transition away from Li-Ion to another chemical make up or solid state. This will be minimum 5-10 years from now. Battery breakthroughs will occur in the future. Because of charging time, consumers want more and not less range than a gas powered car.
@anthonystevens86836 ай бұрын
The perfect conclusion to the series Anna. This was very well summed up. Depending on your usage, home charging availability and type of journey etc will all play a part in the decision to consider an EV. A very good point about some public charging facilities being low light or no light in the dark where charging takes many time longer than a petrol or diesel, safety has to be considered as well. Very few reviewers have mentioned this fact. When a sleaze bag follows you to the car it can be a worrying experience at any time even if you are in a supermarket car park when not charging. With payment scanning or unplugging and storing cables added to the equation this could up the anxiety by an order of magnitude. In summary a great series for everyone who may be considering an EV and a well balanced approach to the pros and cons. many thanks for sharing, another top job.

Anna..well said about the safety aspect of EV charging points and use by women on their own. Too many I have found are in dark and distant places or lonely car parks and another difficult point is that sadly many in the more distant positions are also an unplanned public convenience….😬😬😬😣

Really good video, but the only constructive feedback I would give is the burst of audio/music segments are much louder than the rest of the audio. I had the volume at the right level for your voice, but then the music blasts out.

Same answer as in the last episodes: yes. *If* you are driving in a 200 km ( 2 x 200 km) range around your home, charge at home with your own solar panels, benefiting from low leasing rates and still keep your petrol engine car.

@stubones6 ай бұрын
What’s good EV range? 30km at best isn’t good range. It’s too compromised. We settle for a downgrade in convenience and range just to virtue snivel and use vehicles loaded with lithium and nickel mined destructively. Virtue snivel is the correct term for these people’s behaviour.

Great for you. Most people don’t want to get in debt just to virtue snivel. My car is paid off, I get up to 800 miles from a tank and it takes 5 minutes to fuel in and out. Why would I get into debt for tens of thousands of ££, for a vehicle that can do 250 miles between one hour charges? Clown world.

Wziąłbym takiego Bentley'a, wyrzucił z niego dużą baterię, wstawił mniejszą, wyrzucił turbo, wyrzucił tylną kanapę, wyrzucił instalację do ładowania, a wstawił większy bak, kuloodporną przednią szybę, zakrytą klatkę bezpieczeństwa, założył opony run-flat, pneumatyczne zawieszenie z regulacją prześwitu i miałbym czołga - coupe, który mało pali i świetnie wygląda.

1:31 Not a reality even. If everyone had an EV how could people even charge them because there would be lines and lines of cars waiting in line for a charge if there would be a million EVs in the city? It would take 40 years till most average folks could afford an EV. The reality is that combustion engines will live for multiple decades and we’ll see sports car manufacturers starting to embrace and fight for combustion engines like Aston Martin is already doing it.

EVs do not "transfer the probem somwhere else". EVs use energy mix that can and is consisting of a share of renewable energy, petrol engines do not. Also that energy share from fossil fuels is generated more efficiently than an individual engine could, and used much more efficiently by an electric engine. This is a maniupulation by ommission of a virtue.
@AnnaOnRoads22 күн бұрын
I think it will be best if you produce your own video. Since you appear to not only not it all, but also accuse others of virtue signalling. Best of luck to you, dearest.
