yep. one thing that has *actually* been a life changer for me is accepting that due to my adhd, new is always the best, so i try not to be down on myself when a system stops working. i just move on and maybe one day ill get back into it. it sucks bc it makes you overwhelmed w the systems you have but it is what it is.

@@tsuki3752 aaaa same! I used notion for a whole one year and it was perfect but then I started hating it out of nowhere and turn into google calendar, and sometimes when google calendar doesn't work I go back to notion for simple to-do lists and when those doesn't work I create a silly excel sheet where I organize projects and then repeat, just jumping through different apps. You will also find a whole project organized on paper from time to time lol. When I accepted this it actually got better! Tired of this app? don't push it, just jump to the one you feel like using that day haha

@@WesleyAnnamaybe instead of talking bad about Notion you could explain what it's actually made for and should be used for :) Notion is a really good and powerfull tool, really not made for time scheduling but amazing for other things. I always compare the app to excel sheets, but on steroids. Would we do to-do lists on excel? In 2024? No way 😂 So it doesn't seem logic to do it in Notion if you know what the app is made for. I am building Notion systems for professionnal use and it's with no surprise that I confirm that no task tracking is included in it. But it combines every excel sheets combined, supercharged, organized, with automations, status, etc. Easy to build? Not that much for most people. Easy to get lost in it? Omg yes. But bad? Worth being talked badly about? Certainly not. I just think it's sad that too many youtubers think it's good to talk about it as a task manager. They sell or give templates that will never be the right way to use Notion. It makes people waste time. Notion, the more it is pretty, the more it has widgets, the more it becomes cluttered and useless! As I said in an other comment.. I think I will try akiflow when I am done with my usemotion subscription, it seems nice :)

as someone with audhd, no organization app has been as useful for my brain as just a big bujo-style spreadsheet i designed and coded for myself. bit more work to setup, but it really allows you to customize to your needs and will never have additional features that you don't use & end up being distractions (as is inevitable with apps, which need to meet broad audience needs). xtiles interested me since it looks very similar to my sheet setup, just with more features. it would distract me as a daily organizer but i'm definitely gonna look into it as a board for writing/creative projects!

They renamed it all to ADHD and i think ADHDers need things to be aesthetically pleasing. It's impossible to live without relying on technology, but most of us don't actually know what goes into creating it. I would love if you could share "basic" information based on knowledge/skills you build in your career (e.g basic design principles, how to judge if a website/app/software was designed well as the user, technical background/capabilities everyone should understand at least a little bit, etc.)

Personally I use microsoft Edge as a browser bc of its side tabs layout, grouping is easy and they're saved when reopening the window, also I don't have to necessarily download files to view them which saves me time as I don't get distracted with searching the folder it will go to. I like the way I can write and highlight on pdf files. Honestly not overwhelming and gets the job done

The thing most helped me with being organized was Literally an actual calendar 🗓️, that and a wall board

Routinery has helped me a lot at different points in my life. There was a year I used it so frequently, I did have the membership. I currently don’t need it like that. So I don’t have the membership. But great to know it’s there when I really cannot function or need to use less brain power on daily tasks.

How complicated do you find xTiles? I keep coming back to Apple Notes’ simplicity but I like what you showed here

There's a firefox extension that does the same thing with putting your tabs to the left, it's called sideberry. You can create groups of tabs, different panels for tabs (that contain groups of tabs or single tabs) to split between different topics and so on

Such a great video! I love hearing about new or unknown apps. Support local small businesses-sort of thing 😊 But, I’m also extremely interested in your ADHD-friendly Notion deep dive (I must have missed your last video tbh, since I was on a social media cleanse, so this is the first time I’m hearing of it!), so take your time, love your content 😊

Notion can be SO fun to customize, but the friction is real! It's certainly not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with using multiple apps for different things, so don't feel bad if you want to give other tools a try. :)

I have been backpacking the last few months and I noticed (what is often dismissed in the ideal morning routine) your physical environment. I lived in a small town at home in Germany where I could easily run 5 K after work bc it’s a) safe and b) parc nearby In other parts of the world it’s either too unsafe or no close place nearby or it might get dark before you leave work etc. what I am saying is it’s not always possible to copy this „perfect morning routines“ from influencers on the other side of the world

Thank you so much for this video. Notion is so frustrating because its not intuitive to work with, and like you said, has its limits on basic conveniences you would expect on a planning app. I really want to love it and I understand that the interface is more "technical" due to its use of databases and formulas, but even learning to code is more intuitive than leaning to use notion. Some of the processes and limits on it just don't make sense. Anyways, i'm going to try these apps and if it doesn't work, i'll just have to keep using your notion videos to power through lol

I'm embarrassed to be saying this, and I promise I only use it on my work computer because i have no choice but... Edge has all of the features Arc does and has done for some time! Plus, the vertical tabs collapse when you're looking at pages, it has list collections of tabs, collections you can save, and split tabs is a quick button, and is fairly intuitive 🥲. Otherwise, I use Firefox on my all my personal devices for privacy reasons... but I do really miss those Edge features as the Firefox vertical tree sucks.

Routinery is interesting for me, I am a bullet journal person but I use weekly & monthly spreads- day to day stuff I can’t really track the same way. Just not the way my brain works- plus my schedule cannot be the same every day, my sleep issues don’t allow it, so I can’t use time to track things because I can’t go to bed or wake up the same time everyday.

I loooove Routinery but the absolute first thing I did when trying it off was turning off the voice notifications 🤣 Since I was using it for my evening routine late at night, the voice out of nowhere just scared me out of my routine lol.

Now I'm overwhelmed by all the productivity apps and am on a rabbit hole of figuring out which one works exactly to my needs while my actual work is piling up....What is if it's not perfect? What if it creates more stress? 😅
