As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought this would go good. Having realized what Sebastian is capable of with his singing, and that he is an excellent rock vocalist. Skid Row was one of the first bands I got into after discovering music. Some of their songs- particularly “18 and Life”- were definitely my jam. His screams really are incredible and powerful, along with his soaring high notes. One of hard rock’s strongest voices.

Subbed... The way he introduces the growl at the end of the 2nd chorus "you" instead of going high all-in and picks it up as the gritty tone for the c-section is just brilliant. After 25 years I still keep spotting these gems again like I heard them for the first time. Nothing novel there but he does it all with such absolute control and style; technique and dramaturgy. Hauska kanava!

Would highly recommend one of our beloved Aussie legends John Farnham, starting with his cover of the Beatles hit "Help" - the version live in concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Another recommendation would be Kiwi/Aussie Stan Walker. His version of the Kanye West song "Ultralight Beam" is outstanding, as is the song he wrote for the Ava DuVernay movie Origins, called "I Am". New sub, cheers.

I was 16 when their debut album came out and I bought it right away. I was learning how to play guitar and just had to learn all the songs on the album. Scotti's solo was amazing and no one knew what to make of the off-note squeal at the end of the solo but we absolutely loved it! This song was most people's introduction to Sebastian Bach and he had the best pipes in Hard Rock imo. My absolute favorites of theirs are Wasted Time, 18 and Life, I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild, and Sweet Little Sister.

to answer one of your questions: from the recent videos i've seen, even though he is well in to his 50s now, his voice seems just as powerful as ever , though maybe not _quite_ as smooth (but still pretty smooth). a little bit "aged" , but zero wear. their song _Wasted Time_ is considered his most passionate performance (and for good reason). personally, i'm also a big fan of _Monkey Business_ and _Quicksand Jesus_ .

Anna I just found your channel today, and after I binge watched 6-7 of your videos, I know I MUST subscribe! You are very knowledgeable about music and can distinguish things beyond the trivial info of a song. You analyze melodies, cords, techniques, etc, yes -but you also look at the emotional impact a song has too and offer info or insights about the artist. It's like I'm discussing music with a friend. (unlike those myriads of clueless "react people" that just bob their heads out of sync like car dolls) I should suggest one of my favorites, R.J.Dio, but I'm sure his time will come from other of your followers (it's strange how we all keep meeting online) Instead I would like to suggest Lou Gram of Foreigner ('Cold as Ice', 'Head Games' or 'Blue morning -blue day') and Joe Lynn Turner of Rainbow ('Street of Dreams' or 'Can't let you go') as two important but less appreciated singers. Keep up the amazing job -oh! and you are very sweet^^

I still remember the first time I heard Skid Row. It was April 10, 1989, when they were the opening act for Bon Jovi on their Jersey Syndicate Tour stop in Wichita, Kansas. I had no idea who Skid Row was before that night. I was living in small town Kansas, and the only "rock" radio station was more of a pop station. The only hard rock that got played was songs that made the top 40, and not all of those. Within 30 seconds of Sebastian unleashing that voice on the crowd, I knew I was going album shopping the next day. Their first two albums are still amongst my favorites of all time. And of the 60-70 bands I've seen live over the years, they're performance that night is still in my top 5 for best sounding shows. It was a good night as Bon Jovi's performance after is probably in my top 5, definitely top 10, for best shows. Didn't sound as good, but between all the pyro, the great build up of "Lay Your Hands on Me" to start the show, to the lowering of the gangplank that allowed them to run about 10 feet over the heads of the crowd and play right in front of the people stuck at the back of the arena, it was very well put together. That being said though, if I could go back to that day and only stay for one part of the show, it'd be Skid Row. If you really want to see Sebastian show what his voice can do, check out "Wasted Time." Perhaps the most raw emotional vocal performance I've ever seen in a hard rock act. Or if you want to see them show off their heavy metal chops, go with "Slave to the Grind." I know several years ago, it was voted and the third best heavy metal song of all time in some poll, can't remember which one. I was just happy to see them get their due in one of those polls for once.
