That's what amazes me about Nightwish: it's about the same team on stage, and they play with the same set of instruments and backtracks - however, each song is completely different from the others, still keeping the same unique personality. They don't have 2 songs the same. As if they had 1000 different stories to tell, and they would invent 1000 different ways to tell them, respecting all the rules of composition and interpretation along the way. As a side effect of the "self-treatment" with Nightwish music, I became very selective in choosing music in general. Few others can rise to the level imposed by Nightwish. The final double slide from this song is my most precious ringtone, which I use for a special person. When she calls me, all the conversations end around me as if by magic :) I'm glad you're back to Nightwish. I silently watched your reaction to Jinjer, it was fun, I was laughing alone around the house after that :)) But I knew you would come back. :)

I accidentally stumbled upon your channel as it got recommended to me after listening to Vortex by Jinjer, and I am exceedingly glad that I did as this was a joy to watch. You've got a great mind for detail and analysis, you really get into the music and you've got an incredible personality that's fun to watch. Definitely subscribing and looking forward to the next video, whatever that may be! I noticed you did a reaction to Vortex already so I figured I'd suggest looking into a similar band to Jinjer that's been really taking off lately and for good reason as they're incredibly skilled. The band is called Spiritbox, a canadian band started by the main vocalist Courtney and her husband Mike Stringer. Incredibly tight and technical playing, very dynamic vocalist with some fairly unique ways of singing. I'd suggest looking at the songs Blessed Be or Rule of Nines as an introduction to them, they're also very lenient in regards to copyright claims so there shouldn't be any issue in that regard either.

I came here for the Nightwish, and rediscovered my love for the sound of the Finnish language. When I was 13, a Finnish language class was on TV after school, on PBS (USA public TV). I can remember nothing other than the basic "I put a cup on the table." and all it's past/future forms. I enjoy listening, even tho I cannot follow the words. Maybe a few more years ... it would be my pleasure to invest that time. (my only recent exposure has been through Sami Yaffa's videos... I am internet-friends with his [sometimes] trumpet player, Satish).

Great Choice! Marko and Floor sing very well together ( very good friends) and he will be missed if he stays "retired"...glad you enjoyed it and Empuu's guitar playing. The song that Floor finds the hardest for her to sing is "Ever Dream" as the key is high for her as it was composed for Tarja originally. if you want to expand, try Epica's Sancta Terra with Floor singing with her best friend Simone Simmons

Great reaction Anna. Although Marko is no longer with the band he has left us a huge body of amazing work going back to the Tarrot days with his brother. He is an outstanding talent not only in singing but as a base player and guitarist as well. Not to mention that, for years, he has been Tuomas' wingman in writting songs and producing...Marko lead singing and Floor backing up in The Islander, live from Tempere. Check it out!

Hello Anna, a great and lovely reaction. Romanticide of the Once album as one of the more dramatic and heavier sounds of Nightwish. For your comments I would suggest listen, not only to Floor Jansen 🇳🇱, also to the poppy version of Anette Olsson 🇸🇪 and the more classical voice of Tarja Turunen 🇫🇮 in this song. Not to criticize and justify, I myself appreciate the contribution of all the three female NW-vocalists in their performances, but to compare their different approaches and vocal techniques to this song. And of course the unique participation of icon Marko Hietala 🇫🇮 as vocalist.

Yksi hyvä kommentti Nightwishiin liittyen on ollut, että useimmissa metallibandeissä on 2-3 kitaristia basistin lisäksi, mutta Nightwishillä on vain Emppu. Saisit varmaan tosi paljon irti myös Nightwish/Floor Jansenin uudemmasta tuotannosta, kuten laulusta nimeltä Shoemaker (vahvaa oopperalaulua lopussa) sekä akustinen versio Troyn kitaran kanssa laulusta How's the Heart (erittäin taiturimaista äänenkäyttöä).

Did you know that the Band " Nightwish" are from Holland?( evenso as the band " Within Temptation" )... the female leadsinger real name is Floor Janssen. There's a KZbin Channel called: de beste zangers... ( its a Dutch tv show about music and random Dutch music-artists ). You can type or copy " de beste zangers floor janssen " and put it on the searchboard of youtube. Let me know, what you think of it. Keep up with your great video's, the're awesome!!

I would reaaly like to see your reaction to Nightwish's Ever Dream song (live 2013 version) ^^ Both vocalists there are pretty much different again from what you could hear in previous two songs. And that's best song from that band in my opinion as well ^^

Thx man! ^^ Aika moni tuntuu ajattelevan että Romanticide on väliinputoaja kappaleena. Minusta tämä loi hienoa kulmaa edelliseen reaktioon! Varmaan kaikki äänikoutsit opettavat eläytymistä ainakin jossain määrin, mutta painotus opetuksessa toki voi vaihdella. Minusta tunteen ja tekniikan pitäisi mennä käsi kädessä, ne kuitenkin vaikukttavat toisiinsa paljon!
