He was king of England and he was obsessed with having a son, which is one of the reasons he married 6 times, because he needed a son to further the Tudor line. His one son died at a young age though and only his daughters survived. So when his daughter Elizabeth became queen, she did not marry and never had children by choice. So she ended the Tudor line, because after her, her cousin James Stuart became King. So everything her father cared about was lost and she finished the Tudor dynasty. So we can say that Anne Boleyn (Elizabeth’s mother) got her revenge like this. I hope that helps!

It really is poetic justice when you think about it. Her sister, Mary I, was always a penstroke away from having Elizabeth executed. But she survived. Mary was not a brutal, bloody murderess. She killed 284 people over the course of 5 years which is definitely bad, yes, but nothing compared to what Elizabeth, Henry and james i killed. Elizabeth killed 450 people in ONE DAY in 1569, along with thousands otherwise. Henry executed over ten thousand in the pilgrimage of grace in 1536, and over 50,000 his whole reign 2. She would dress up as a commoner and visit the houses of the poor so that she could see their problems first-hand and make changes to the kingdom to help them. This is just one example. She never saw herself as being above her servants, unlike some other monarchs 3. So many of England's political successes attributed to Elizabeth are actually Mary's policies that Elizabeth continued when she became queen and was given credit for. Mary did lose calais, yes, but she still made wonderful political advancements to England and also made great improvements to the navy 4. Like Katherine, she believed women were as capable of ruling and worthy as men were. She fought for her rightful throne, risking her life greatly, so that the future female monarchs could have theor crowns handed to them on a silver platter. She's the reason England had female monarchs. Mary passed an act to give future female monarchs more power over their husbands after seeing how philip tried but failed to make decisions for her. Mary walked so that Elizabeth and the others could run 5. We're lead to believe that she was hated by her people and Elizabeth was popular, but this isn't true. The people pf England loved Mary dearly. She was very popular with the public her whole life, initially because she was Katherine's daughter and then because of her humility, courage and charity. It's only much after her death that she became so hated, which is because every ruler after her was protestant and tried to blacken her name I'm not lying or making any of this stuff up. The original records and contemporary sources from Mary's reign confirm all this. Mary being bloody is only as realistic as Anne being an incestuous cheater who wanted the king dead

I'm currently rewatching The Tudors Showtimes series. I started watching it when Netflix first had it, but never had a chance to finish. I am obsessed with this part of history. Poor Anne Boleyn truly didn't deserve her horrid fate. I personally don't think Henry loved ANY of his wives. Not even Jane.. even though she provided his male heir. I actually does count, since Henry wanted a son that would bring pride to him and continue his bloodline. Elizabeth becoming one of England's best rulers, as well as ending her father's bloodline is one of the most satisfying revenge stories I've ever seen. Anne's bloodline may have not made it here in the present to rule the country, but so does Henry's.
