One of my favorites to play and listen to.....she does a wonderful interpretation. Bravo!

Very good. Well played! She certainly has integrity, which is more than I can say for most modern violinists I hear these days.

This is a response to Lolipop. Music is a passion for me. When I hear something I really like and haven't heard before I just have to find it on KZbin or on recordings. I recognize certain people who I believe have good taste in music and may have more depth and breadth of taste than I do, and I use their opinions, but I judge on my own ear alone. I love the comments on KZbin because they are more honest than just about anywhere and have bought music based on those comments. See my favorits

It´s me or she plays it wrong at 7:33? It seems that some seconds before the chords doesn´t sound tuned and makes a mistake at 7:33. It seems that because of that, she plays it more quickly too... Well, anyway, she is awesome and this version was wonderful.
@المطربمحمدخيري6 жыл бұрын
you are right she play wrong note in 7,33
@zanderbuhler5 жыл бұрын
Actually probably the result of too much bow pressure, which can cause the notes to go flat; especially when bowing near the fingerboard.

Vanesa Mae is a product of the commercial business. It's discussting. MUTTER is Perfection.

Kurgan100 Vanessa Mae can play like this and has been playing violin since she was a toddler but, it doesn’t sell as well.

If you listen very carefully you can hear that it's a modulation of harmony. I think it goes over some minor harmony, that's why you might think it's wrong although it isn't (or I just hear it wrong xD)

@michrigan14 жыл бұрын
Dear Kusokosla, I don't care how long your have played or how good you are. Musicians, especially classical ones, have some of the worst taste in what music is good. They like technique over emotion and passion. Virtuosity is not the heart of music, it is the soul. How dare you devalue the soul of this obviously great musician! --especially for a bunch of snob males.

I am not seeking to refute Kusokosla, nor am I looking for proof. I totally deny his right and belief that being a musician at any level of skill gives him any special insight or knowledge of music that qualifies him to give advice to others. Usually being a musician DISqualifies an individual because one is concentrated on technique, style, theory and conventional wisdom of the field on what is accepted or not. Classical music of any society is ALWAYS less interesting than its folk tradition.

@michrigan Sorry, I trust my own ear not yours or those of any self-described high-level players. And as for experts and undereducated people I have heard more music than you ever dreamed existed. For example at the University of Chicago workshop I witnessed a musical illiterate who couldn't even play a scale on his kaval (flute) give instructions to a classically trained flute player. Do you know anything about the Pontic lyra, or the klarino that is the heart of music in Epirus? The kemence?

@michrigan I'm not saying I'm an expert of sorts, but as you've described...it sounds as if you're to call yourself an expert on the subject, as if your opinion stands over all. Please do remember that not all should appeal to the same music nor do all know as much as I asume you do. Also note that from the tone of the writing, it sort of makes you sound rather.. in worse vocabulary a 'tight-ass'. Though I'm not aware of the situation, please forgive me if I mistook your intentions.

@kusokosla why not post your wonderful playing here if you are so great? If you really think that she is so modern you are not very in touch with the violinists these days. They have no personality. She is unique and while you may not like her, she has more colors and characters to her playing than you could ever dream of having. I agree that the "Golden Age" players were great, I own the complete recordings of Heifetz, Elman, and Oistrakh. Mutter is fantastic too fool. Show your playing...

@SladeKatakari Soulless. I see. You're making a joke about the Devil's Trill. It is the only sensible interpretation of this comment.
