Thanks for your nice and elaborate reaction! By now, reacting to this cover has almost become its own "genre" on youtube, as there are already quite a few reactions to this video. And I have to say that I really enjoy all these reactions, because there inevitably comes the moment when Henning May starts to sing, and you witness various expressions of surprise, delight, and amazement from those reacting. German reactors often feel the obligation to be “critical” about what they react to, often becoming cynical or making fun of their subject. I enjoy you American reactors much more, as you seem to be much more “naive” in a good sense, i.e. open, honest and appreciative. When you encounter something that's beautiful and felicitous like this cover song, you truly and honestly acknowledge and enjoy it. That's so refreshing! Thank you. I'm a big fan of AnnenMayKantereit (AMK for short) and Henning May. They've done some really nice English language covers together with various other talented bands. (AMK seem to attract other talents like magnets, like trumpeter Ferdinand Schwarz or the guys who shot and recorded the video). Two band colab. One room one band second room other band then it's a get together. Henning May (gravel voice) sings mostly in German. The Giant Rooks are an indie pop band both from Western Germany and more than fluent in English. They open for each other.

AnnenMayKantereit became famous in Germany round about 10 years ago. The two bands actually are at a pretty close range of age, born early to mid 90s. It is so much fun to see your joy! Amazing! If you are a musician yourself, you could try to ask AnnenMayKantereit for a session, pretty sure they would love to play together if they have time. They have a passion for music and do not care if you are famous or not, what kind of music you play, if you are open to create something special together and have a passion for music as well.

You mixed up the bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. Your pronunciation of AnnenMayKantereit was really good!

Hey, like to see, how this great song goes around and shows the world 'We have great musicians in Germany!' Makes me soo proud. These guys are actually the members of two famous german bands, like you can see in the title. And there aren't that young, even if they look like this. The band in the first room is Annenmaykantereit and they are in their thirties. The guy with the raspy soul voice, Henning May, is the lead singer of this band. And then they going to the other room and meet together with the members of Giants Rooks, the first guy Frederik Rabe is the lead singer of them. They're in their mid-twenties. Annenmaykantereit are kind of famous for making these kind of 'spontaneous' music sessions. If you want to hear more of Henning May try him ft. Juju 'Vermissen' or 'Ausgehen' from Annenmaykantereit (both in german) or AMK ft. Milky Chance with there cover of Stings 'Roxanne'. You definitely will enjoy all of them. Best wishes from Berlin 😎

2 Seperate bands. ANNENMAYKANTEREIT IN THE 1ST ROOM. THE 1ST SINGER IS WITH GREAT ROOKS THE BAND IN THE 2ND ROOM. THE 2ND😢 SINGER WITH THE FAB BARITONE VOCALS NAME IS HENNiNG MAY. Started out 11 yrs ago as street folk rock band. Their are alot of the early videos on you tube. LEAVIN, WAITING, YOUR DOOR.
