The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner (1987). This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice, May pronounced like "my") is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. One reason why I love Frederiks voice is their cover of Life On Mars (David Bowie): kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2seGp3mthqeq8. And my favorite original song of Giant Rooks is Nightingales Of The Walled City: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqaYoYOwdtZjn5I . It is a live performance because they haven't released it.

Both acts are amazing and this is a very special cover. Nearly sad that Fred from giant rooks in this is always a little in the shadow of AnnenMayKantereit. Both have such unique strong voices. Even if I think AnnenMayKantereit may be one of the best voices here in Germany - just seen GiantRooks live as support act for Louis Tomlinson….and let me tell you - they are next level live. I was so ready to hate this because I love the original, but this is great! And I'll be checking out these bands. Lol, I knew I vaguely recognised Giant Rocks name but I didn't remember they opened for Louis Tomlinson, one of my favourite artists (until I read the comments), but of course they did, Louis has such great taste in music!

Cover of Suzanne Vega's original classic. Henning's voice from AMK is amazing and Frederik from Giant Rooks also brilliant. AMK Do so many collab covers with guests and some great originals in German and English. Their Roxanne cover with Milky Chance and Can't Get You Out of My Head with Parcels are brilliant also. The setting for each cover are also brilliant. Henning May btw is the deep voice!

Henning May is the 2nd singer with the rich powerful deep voice. His band ANNENMAYKANTEREIT WAS IN 1ST ROOM. 1ST SINGER IS WITH GIANT ROOKS.
