I see this is making rounds again.. and I'm HERE for it. AMK deserves all the attention they can get. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe how good they are. That is their actual voices, and Henning (the second one) is the main reason why this performance blew up the way it did. If someone tells you otherwise they're lying. I mean, I do like Giant Rooks ( the other band) also, but you don't find a voice like Hennings very often. He is a rare gem. The whole band is amazing, but let's be real - he is the main star. Can't wait to see them perform live next summer!

Both bands are very well known in Germany - I hadn't heard either until I stumbled across this about a year ago. I'm addicted to AMK. Even when they're singing in German, it's glorious to listen to.

My personal favorite among the English-speaking covers by AnnenMayKantereit is the one with the band Parcels, 'Can't Get You Out of My Head.' Definitely worth watching!

Yeah, it's that Henning May moment, when the guy with the raunchy voice starts....... I love this cover version and I absolutely adore AnnenMayKantereit (Unnen-My-Kunterright). It's two bands actually. Giant Rooks is the first singer's band.

I v been fan of Henning May and his band AMK. They r German. Most of there originals are in German. But his voice and the music is beautiful. And Idc if I dont understand the lyrics. ❤

Fun fact: the "do do do do" bit only exists at the end Suzanne Vega's original a capella recording (which, itself, has a fascinating history with the development of the MP3 audio compression algorithm). It was added at the beginning of DNA's 1991 cover of Tom's Diner - with the new vocal track contributed by Suzanne herself. DNA's cover proved incredibly popular & Suzanne has since added DNA's "do do do do" bits when she performs the song in concert. Art, in the words of the poet Amanda Palmer, begets Art.
