The speed of light is a constant and is actually 299,792,458 m/s therefore it is not used for deciding significant figures. The given frequency of 101.1 mHz has 4 significant figures so that is why it is used to determine the sig figs of the final answer.

do we wait until the end and use the same sig figs as the number in the question for out answer. In other words do we also use sig figs for every time we use dimensional analysis or only when we get to the final answer?

The original number given in the question is typically the measured number so yes that is the one to use for determining sig figs at the end of the problem in the answer. If you stop during the dimensional analysis work and get an intermediate answer (not the final answer) you should always carry an extra sig fig during the calculation to avoid something called compounding rounding errors.

K is for kilo so multiply your 1.20 by 1000. (1kHz = 1000 Hz). It’s is 1,200 Hz 😀

Hi need your help...have a laser and i want to know wavelength it can provide. The known info is hertz and joules but having difficulty determining wavelength in nanometers.

The bigger question is does laser light travel at the speed of light? If so then you have the frequency in Hz (s-1) and energy in (J) so then you can use E=hc/wavelength rearrange to have wavelength = hc / energy and solve for wavelength. Or use c = freq x wavelength so wavelength = c / freq. Again these only work of laser light indeed travels at the speed of light! Best of luck👍🏻

Make sure you are using the EE which is done by pressing the yellow 2nd key and then the x-1 key. Also, there is a button next to the yellow second key that you can change your answers from FLO to SCI which the SCI is scientific notation and the FLO is without the scientific notation. Does this help?
