Am I the only one who thinks Ms Annie Lennox is a Goddess of music? She sings the shit outta this song and dances free and joyfully even when the song is heartbreakingly haunting sad, with a smile that lights up the theater. She's breathtaking. I love it. Ms Annie Lennox, if you think you'll have "no more I love you's" think again. Here's one from me. I LOVE YOU!

This song , as Annie signs it so hauntingly beautifully, slays me. My marriage is dying. I am losing my best friend and lover. We are saying goodbye to each other and have to move on into what? a brave new future, it's unknown. No more "I love yous". I cry every time I here this song now. Such a beautiful sad song that speaks to my broken heart.

One of the saddest songs that reminds me of the past. So sorry to hear of your dilemma Brother...When you feel...you feel...that will always be a part of those that do...Maybe that is a curse. But when we know what we had and love...it stays with us. There will be other loves. Leave yourself open to allow it into your heart. I pray you find that joy again. Outstanding review of Annie Lennox's 'No More "I Love You's"'! This song, originally by The Lover Speaks and later famously covered by Lennox, showcases her unique ability to transform a song into something entirely her own. Your analysis of how Lennox's version elevates the track with her powerful, emotive voice and the distinctive orchestral arrangement is spot on. The song, featured in her 1995 album 'Medusa', marks a significant moment in her solo career, diverging from the Eurythmics' style to a more introspective and mature sound. The way Lennox interprets the song's exploration of the end of a love affair and the complexities of relationships is deeply moving. The use of operatic backing vocals and its innovative video further highlight Lennox's creative artistry. Thanks for this in-depth look at one of Annie Lennox's most compelling performances!

That backing vocal tho.. They nailed it
@Kapok-Bush2 жыл бұрын
U're right. On the studio version Lennox also perfoms that part of the song as well as singing the main part. In that song backing vocals mostly take part to convey the atmosphere and the beauty of the whole thing: this is really the element of the arrangements I do prefer. Here, on this video, backing singers did their work perfectly making listeners enjoying the original atmosphere of the track... on stage this time.

She sounds brilliant. Scotland AND England should both recognize the National Treasure they have in Lennox. As British music industry acts go, she’s one of the few who’s the REAL DEAL. She’s worked so hard on her craft and always respected the art of live performing. Despite being physically beautiful to behold in every one of her videos through the years, she toiled tirelessly to be taken seriously on more than looks alone. As we listen back to her catalogue of music, it’s clear she has succeeded.

Completely enthralling performance. Annie Lennox keeps u gasping at her superb vocals and singing ability.

I'll forgive anyone the "strained note" or "dropping of the key" to suit the maturing of a voice IF and only IF its live and real, and given to me with love, and a passion to communicate a song....just watch the joy she emits...bliss...it's enough for me...

@@trudesoto7807 this comment is super old but I think I was responding to someone above who said something profoundly stupid like "she lowered the key" or "she cracked these notes" and I guess I could have said simply "Annie could speak the whole thing, if it's real for her, it's real for me..."
