So "you're" (see how that works?) telling me, in the annals of music history, Adam and Larry will be lauded in the same light as Bonham, Peart, Moon, John Paul Jones, Entwhistle, Jaco etc. Give me a break. Get a life dude, apart from Edge, the musicians in U2 are mediocre at best.

@@dominiccrimmings6925 because YOU are (not your) the standard that is able to rate all of rock-n-roll??? 1. they are (not their) in the hall of fame 2. as a whole they fit together better than any 1 band- your example of Bonham, Peart and Moon overshadowed their (not there- since you love grammar so much) respective bands with their drumming instead of fitting in. 3. They do a lot more than "use politics" they actually change ideas and views about the world, they walk the walk... Please just SIT DOWN your (not you're) argument is weak and YOU'RE (not your) just a big joke! now.. take some time to listen to 3 songs (LIVE) take the song "Seconds" from under a blood red sky- all about the the rhythm section- take Sunday Bloody Sunday (again under a blood red sky) The drums make that song.. and take where the streets have no name from rattle and hum (LIVE at sun devil stadium) and put any drummer and bass player against Larry and Adam and they will have a hard time keeping up.... U2 is all about stripping their music down to 3 chords and the truth- they want it to be as raw as possible to get the timeless feel to their sound.. but yea- you wouldn't understand that with your narrow view of Rock-n-roll... not even a clue...

The songs about the war in El Salvador in the 80’s, the edges guitar playing technique in the song represents the fighter planes in the sky above El Salvador dropping their bombs. Listen as the edge plays you really can hear the fighter planes flying above and diving down dropping their bombs and exploding. The edge said he needed the guitar to sound like that to emphasise and give the feeling of being there. My opinion he did exactly that I felt like I was there. What a genius the edge is and a super group U2 are. The best in the world. I come from ballymun where bono grew up and I seen them before they where famous walking past my house. You can call me biased but no band comes close to U2 when there playing live. Have another listen to the song with you daughter and concentrate on the edges guitar playing and you will hear those fighter planes and bombs. I would love to see your reactions this time now you understand the the pure genius of how they put their songs together. Please let me know why you think of you can’t video your reactions. It’s one of my favourites too.

(and not being able to tell the difference)..... and even the rest of the world in the end.... instead of fixing what was happening in their own countries at the time.. was just running into the arms.. of America... @@boazbell38 The US played a big part in the civil wars in Central America in the 80's including El Salvador. America wasn't just sitting back being ignorant. They were backing the "freedom fighters" as the rebels were called. The jab towards the US in this song isn't about their ignorance, it's about how they wanted to appear as the savior from the evil communists all while running the drug operations covertly. No one remembers Iran-Contra? It mainly focused on Nicaraugua but it occured in most of Central America too.

Great job on these videos! If you're going to do more U2 for Annie, I would highly recommend showing her the theatrical side of their shows from the 90's. My favorite would be the entire Encore set from Zoo TV Live in Sydney. It's a 5 song set, but very entertaining. Also, it probably includes at least 2 songs she's never heard before, but showcases the band's range of style. Some highlights of note: 1. Bono finishing up his transformation to Mr. MacPhisto in his dressing room as the encore begins. 2. Adam Clayton nearly jumping out of his skin when the pyrotechnics shoot fake money into the air near the end of the first song, "Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car" (he missed the show the night before due to overindulgence). 3. "Off with the horns... on with the show!" during "Lemon" 4. Bono phoning for a cab because "he's tired and he wants to go to bed." 5. Strong performance of "With or Without You" even as Bono is clearly exhausted from the show. 6. An emotional guitar solo by Edge during "Love is Blindness" 7. Great closeout with Bono singing falsetto on "Can't Help Falling in Love" Another great clip to show Annie would be the opener to PopMart Mexico City. The energy they bring to start their shows really shines in this. I saw the tour opener for PopMart in Vegas '97, and we had no idea what it was going to be like. I always thought the opener to Zoo TV had a lot of energy so my expectations were high, but they really took it to a new level for PopMart.

This version is one of the best. The added lyrics with an older Bono having a discourse with his younger self is very powerful and honest. 'Have you forgotten who you are? You're Irish, but here you are smiling and acting with the powerful like you're really here for the powerless'. Very self critical and ' I feel like a fraud but I know that I'm not' an acknowledgement of his own criticism towards his activism and how he balances that while being a Rock Star and the contradictions that brings. It incorporates the theme that Songs of Innocence was exploring about looking back at the past and delving in deeper to see what shaped them in their youth. The conflict known as the troubles in Northern Ireland and Ireland is also a theme here and is throughout that album also. A superb version with maybe more meaning than the original version.

Have to second with a few people i spotted in the comments section, theyr Rattle And Hum version of this is at the absolute top for me. The Edge litterally sliding with his guitar, holding his guitar note super long, before they kick it off. The overall show factor and performance is "second to none!". Its from that same concert i have my favourite "Where The Streets Have No Name" version. Every member on absolute fire! Still, this gets messages across in a totally different way,got to give them that.

This is such a powerful song musically it's intense. The message in all of their songs for the most part is intense. Whether you agree with it or not, I always have to give credit for the passion involved.

Watching these is really making me yearn for Bono. I miss his humanity. With what is happening in our country today, politically, racially and healthy wise, we need people like him more than ever. He's such an inspiration. And, thank you for introducing your kids to these bands.

Bono actually wrote a letter to Billie Eilish near his 60th birthday (referencing her song ‘Everything I Wanted’) - explaining how the song influenced him. Thought you might like to know! There’s another 59 cool songs he thanked too!

Definitely need to do a video of the Zoo TV tour!!! That concert showcases 3 characters in 1 show. Starts with “The Fly”, classic Bono in the middle of the show (including an amazing version of Blue Sky), and “MacPhisto” at the end!!!

If I remember correctly, u2 were in Paris the week of the terrorist attacks in 2015,they had scheduled 4 shows and they completed 2. I think they had a show the following night, which they cancelled and instead they went to the sites of the attacks. I saw them a week later in Dublin, Bullet was a super-charged performance, all 3 gigs out of 4 i attended that week were. This DVD was filmed during the rescheduled Paris shows at the beginning of December, so some 20-25 days after the attacks

Don't know if anyone brought it up. Greg Carroll (the one handing Bono’s mic) died in an motorcycle accident in Dublin in 1986, believe he was running errands for Bono at the time. Their song One Tree Hill was written in memory of him.

Incredible performance!!!! I've gotta see U2 when they come around again. I gotta admit, Billie and Finneas are great musicians, and they are in their early stages. When I saw Pearl Jam at Edgefest 1, I was blown away, and when I saw them twice several years later on, it still didn't compare to seeing them at Edgefest. So seeing Billie and Finneas while they are still so humble off of the first album, might be the best time to see them.

You should take a look at kite live at slane castle. The concert was filmed a week after bono buried his father and he dedicated the song to him. Very emotional and powerful performance

Check out Sunday Bloody Sunday from Rattle and Hum. It was shot the day of a bombing in Ireland. Very emotional, powerful version by Bono. One of the best.

Next time start with the "October" intro with the Edge playing the piano as pictures of bombed out Syria are shown. Then it transitions straight into "Bullet The Blue Sky". Powerful stuff.

Good to see that younger generation coming u ! I saw U2 on The Joshua Tree tour, at the L.A. Coliseum. It was simultaneously glorious emotionally (essentially the same show as seen in color in the Rattle & Hum film) and physically horrible (76,000 people getting rained on in November). Coolest moment was that they lit the flaming Olympics rings to start "Bullet the Blue Sky" (only time they've been lit since the 1984 Summer Olympics)
