Would love to see videos explaining shapes used to draw cats, dogs, birds faces & bodies. I struggle with the drawing so I tend to delay trying any animal drawings & paintings ...also how to mix certain colors to create tans, blues, pinks, etc🎨

Hey Michelle! Thanks so much for all the great video ideas. 👋😍 I follow a reference photo and will turn the photo into a traceable for speed & accuracy. Painting is drawing with paint 👍 You might like this site - I found it with a quick google search monikazagrobelna.com/2019/07/24/sketchbook-original-how-to-draw-cats/ (some of her cat structure is a bit off in my opinion, a cats snout isn't parallel with the top of the head). Color mixing: Scroll down a bit for a free PDF color wheel. www.faspaints.com/free-paint-colour-mixing-guide-for-kids.html I like mixing with quinachridone, rather than a red. Both make pink when you add white. Warmer pink, add a little yellow, cooler pink add a little blue. Tan can be a brown with white. Want the tan warmer, add some yellow, want it cooler, see how you like a little blue. Enjoyed this , but after you mentioned the first leow cornell brush - you stopped naming the brushes - ive been watching tuts for months now & get frustrated when the teacher devoids of naming brushes , because how can we achieve the same marks if we dont know the brushes … You used a shiny turquoise pointy type brush a lot - would have loved the name of that brush . I guessed maybe a princeton?

Hey Rose Red! 👋😍 So sorry I frustrated you. 😞 I don't know as I don't have the brush any more. Looks like a 0/3 size brush. This may be of a bit of help. Even if you buy the same brush, same size and have the same amount of wear, your 'handwriting' will come through and you will not get the same mark. Make sense? Any little brush will do. You WANT your 'handwritting' and your personality to shine in your paintings. Make sense? How do you keep your paints from drying out?

@@karareese2469 If I understand your question correctly, I don’t. If I want wet on wet look, I work it a section at a time. If it wants to dry, I let it and come back with a glaze or another layer. You might like watching part if one of my live streams to see me paint in real time. Ask again if I am off base. Art Hugs! 👋😍🎨🤗

@@karareese2469 AH! Bigger 'puddles' of paint can help it dry more slowly. I mist the palette with water - sometimes it helps and sometimes not so much. I will stir the puddles with a little water or mat medium. Quite often I stop after and hour or so, mist the palette, put another plate on top and slide it into a gallon baggie. It is like a terrarium and can help moisten the paints up a bit. If you don't have one, you may like a Stay Wet palette. I have hear good things for many people. If they get just too darn sticky, I put out fresh paint. I have heard some have a humidifier in their studio and turn off fans. - - OK, maybe there is something here that helps a bit.
