The Sniper Opening is a perfect example of Hypermodern opening theory - very early in the game, black invites white to establish a big center so that black may rapidly strike at this center from the sides and prove it to over-extended and weak. The Sniper Opening is a very effective tool for chess players of all levels as it can be employed against almost every opening move (excluding only rare moves like 1. b3 and 1. b4). Not only can you achieve great results with the Sniper Opening, it will exponentially reduce the amount of time you need to dedicate to study opening theory. Yes - the Sniper very often transposes to the Accelerated Dragon but the difference is that white can't play any Rossolimo Variation set-ups with an early Bb5 after ..Nc6

I'm sure you can give a good tuto to learn to play good games with Black against Rossolimo too, even if it may be difficult. I can't believe that the Rossolimo refute 1.e4 c5 2.Cf3 Cc6.

Henley rules! Trying to create and opening repertoire, which includes Dzindi Indian, Accelerated Dragon and Modern opening, which also has first move g6 for black. Sniper goes along the same lines and really is something I need to get know more in the future as well. I would guess these four openings would pretty much cover most of the openings by white. Many times these particular openings transpose so if one knows them all he is pretty solid no matter how white plays.
