Advent calendars are huge in the UK. When we opened them in school, each child was given a number and they got to open that day in class and got to eat the chocolate or whatever it was. We also made them in school as well, with pictures behind the doors. Also the round ornament you opened is called a Bauble

Advent calendars are just usually something flatter with just a small picture/drawing behind the numbers but the chocolate ones are pretty good. There are more adult ones with liquor and other stuff which is far more fun :)

sorry for missing the stream, I was cooking dinner and didn't see the notification. [0900 JST = 1700 MST (Colorado)] Super cute mini Christmas tree and advent calendar of ornaments. Looking forward to seeing what they are as we move closer to Christmas. I'll have to think a little on possible topics/questions.

I haven't caught a stream live yet, but I thought I'd drop a topic here. A lot of people probably watch for Japanese culture. As an American, Japan is definitely different (mostly good ways, imo). Have you traveled to other countries? If so, where? Did you have any culture shock moments? It'd be interesting to hear about unexpected experiences from your perspective.
