You need to use some flushing oil, to fully get rid of the engine flush or the remenants will stay in the oil pan bottom ,not good for the new oil . Instead if using the flush, early oil change intervals could be way better. Like 4-5000 kms. I opened my engine up due to the gear teeth breaking to overhaul the gear box at 47000 kms and the Enfield mechanics were amazed to see the lack of carbon bhild up even after this long a run. The stock oil is cost effective for this type of early interval plans. Wont say it's the best way, but it did work to keep the internals clean.

The royal Enfield service centers connect thr diagnostic tool that helps bleed the full system using the abs motor. Do try that once, the change in pedal feel is just different.
@cooolben53 ай бұрын
That is mad genius to use the OBD scanner and the ABS motor like that!! Wow!!
@diaryofawanderingboot3 ай бұрын
@@cooolben5 it's actually how we are supposed to do it. Is what I was told. But techs are always looking to get away with a bit less work as most folks had been used to servicing non abs bikes. The line too will hold old brake fluid, people won't be able to get that out with this method is what I was told. Anyways everytime the pads are inspected or the clippers are cleaned I just get them to use the machine to put in in the bleeder mode. You can instantly feel the pulsing when the motor gets going. It'll tell when to pump brakes ,when to hold and when to loosen the bleeder valve and close it.

Hey Srinivas 🖐not seen the oil additive to thin the oil before but time is money for the tech I guess😁 I let mine drain for hours but thats interesting 🤔. Dot 5 brake fluid not sure why he used that though very high temp fluid two grades higher than your car🙃 manual calls for Dot 4. Namaste 😊
@SrinivasGanesh3 ай бұрын
Hi John! Yes that makes the process a lot quicker and reduces the labour charge when getting the motorcycle serviced. hehehe Yes manual calls for DOT4 however they told me that this is kinda better than DOT4 and then I read about the two fluids. While it is true that DOT5.1 is used for machines operating at a much higher temperature, however I settled for the fact that DOT 5.1 lasts much longer and provides a better heat resistance. Because it is India. We operate at a much higher temperature as is. haha Further researching I found out that both DOT4 & DOT5.1 are glycol-based brake fluids and that they are compatible with each other, which means they can be readily mixed without harming your brake system. Key point to remember is never to mistake DOT 5.1 (glycol-based) with DOT 5 which is silicone-based and should never be mixed with any other DOT fluid.

RE manual is right, however, there is no harm in using DOT 5.1 too. Only difference is DOT 5.1 has more heat resistance (boiling point) as compared to DOT 4. Other than that, they are both glycol based brake fluids and are compatible with each other. But, both should never be mixed with DOT 5 as that is a silicone based.
