This is the Most Solemn Occasions of the Roman Catholic Church, the Dedication of he Church. This is the Anointing of the Altar, In which the Walls and the Altar Table is Sanctified and Blessed by the Bishop. The Bishop is the Ordinary of the Celebration.... It's not an Abomination and not Scary.

The crosses made on the building walls eleven years ago can still be seen. I was fortunate to be there on the day of the consecration and it was a beautiful liturgy.

Huh? What beautiful is that? This church has no taste of sacred art. Whoever the architect of this "cathedral" committed a grave sin in the eyes of God for designing such structure. Gosh. I don't even know if God is pleased with the design of this "church".

Actually, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles had been trying to replace St. Vibiana's Cathedral since 1904, when Pope Pius X granted permission to then-Bishop Conaty "to remove the present cathedral in order to erect a larger church in a more suitable area of town" (Weber, Francis. 'Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels', p. 23).

Most likely old stock. The resin in most incense blends doesn't keep forever, nor does it keep its scent.

The trees that this most recognisable incense comes from are becoming almost rare and the process to convert the sap is long, arduous and cost consuming. Maybe one day we won't have anymore.
