Did this with no experience or money when I was 20 something. 1992 ford tempo (the classiest of all the sports cars) picked up a suction cup for $5 at princess auto. Some hot water and about 20 seconds and boom! Cars back to mint. I don’t know what this guys talking about “takes experience and special tools” ha! Money grab. All joking aside, this is some excellent work! Well done 👍🏻 Ps, true story and I went on to rattle can the thing Saskatchewan Roughrider (ish) green and white. What a beauty!

But how much does 2 days of your shop cost? Who is going to pay it? Presumably the insurance would pay for the 41k repair and that yours is less, but that doesn't mean the insurance would pay for it. 41k the insurance pays is better than 10k I have to pay.

PDR are work of arts work. Most people keeps comparing the PDR quotes to body shops quote. I just started PDR and most people would say here in Canada : Oh, i'll just have it repainted for the same price.

How could a repair of a panel be 41k? That's half the value of the truck. Somebody explain this to me.

There is another rivian $41k video on youtube that explains why. Basically this part is welded to the car, and they have to remove tons of the car, the battery pack, bits and other pieces, it's just outrageous amounts of labor even though the part is not so bad. I have seen the same with Tesla. Some of the repairs are mind-bogglingly expensive.

Conventional body shop value to cut and replace this uniside on this particular model is around $41,000 to do at a certified Rivian repair facility. 👍🏻

What’s an estimated price of this kind of dent? I have a similar one. Would be nice for Rivian to go with a heavier duty body than the current aluminum, since adventures get rough sometimes. 👍

You can expect to pay anywhere between $5K all the way up to $15K for high-quality paintless dent repairs of this nature. The alternative is a $20K-40K uniside replacement which is very invasive. The bedsides/quarters are mild steel on the R1 S and R1 T. The rest of the body panels are typically of aluminum construction.
