Firstly it's not just a "fender bender". That's a pumpkin sized crater on a part of the wheel arch. Amazing save Matt! You have to have serious focus on repairs like this as they can start to look much worse before they finally start looking better and it takes a huge amount of confidence and belief to see it through and you did that perfectly, great job! 👊😉

I’m a bit late to this video but I always appreciate when someone has mastered their craft like this man. Absolutely insane that he got that dent out. He said he’s done this for 25 years so that means he’s done it for the exact amount of time I’ve been alive. Amazing work!

Im amazed that you were able to handle the metal that was knotted or kinked. And a significant amount of the metal was undoubtedly stretched in some places. Amazing.

Awesome explanation of how complicated this job would have been for 41 grand. Your work and end result doing it your way is a much better way then ripping the whole truck apart.

Shipping both ways probably $2000. 2 days labor in the shop, i would guess maybe 2 guys by the video...32 hrs labor x $200/hr is $6400 for a total of probably around $8400. Better than $40,000 to get a hacked up truck back
@bill9540Ай бұрын
@@mofomocoYes, with a successful repair like this I’m guessing $200.00 per hour is both reasonable and a bargain at the same time👍 Just imagine how laughable even a $15,000.00 repair estimate would be!

$41k lets just be honest that is a bs quote from that shop. That means these trucks would be totaled easily. But great job on the repair!
@steveherr450 Жыл бұрын
this is the third rivian I have seen that had minor rearend damage but the quotes to fix them were over $40,000. panel to fix this is $14,000 all by itself and then you still have to almost take it all apart. as the video said, it is all 1 piece construction so you need to pull the windows and everything out,repaint to match and put it all back together again. at shop rate that isn't cheap. When that cybertruck comes out it will be the same way. cheap to make it in a gigapress all in one piece but it will not be cheap to fix after a minor fender bender.

@bobufo5729 Жыл бұрын
@@crash9632 it literally is a accurate quote from a body shop. It’s a we don’t want to do it quote but the reality is nobody wants to do it. Same thing happened with the bmw i3 . You might be able to find a cheaper quote but it’s still gonna be 30k. The panel itself is 14k numb nuts . 1/4th of 41k is $10,250; that is less than the parts omega lul.

@DaelinTV Жыл бұрын
@@chillmegachillvarious sources suggest 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, which is the equivalent of being a slave, only someone that’s excessively wealthy would consider spending that much money on fixing a bumper.
