How is October to fish the canal ? Going up there from north Carolina

October is good. It's later on in the fall striper run, so if it's toward the end of the month, many of the really big fish may be gone. But it should be active on any given day. Also, less crowded, and the foliage is nice - maybe my favorite time of year on the Cape.
