Another cheap foam wing cutter

Using a power supply from a laptop, we create another cheap wing cutting table. The bow is of hardwood and the wire is just crafting wire. (a better wire is 22 gauge nichrom wire from ebay) This works for smaller foam cutting projects

So technically, you could just add 4mm bullet plugs to the negative and positive from the power supply? And plug directly into them.. the only reason i ask is, it looked like you a transformer and stuff on the table but it seems like you arnt using them as you mentioned...

You are correct in that I have another system on the table. This is one that I just could not get to work properly. I am using it for the connections and the rest is just there because I was too lazy to move it. Thank you for you great observation. Putting the 4mm plugs directly on the power supply would be a much better way to do it.

Wow! I really like that wing cutter you got there. What exactly do you have the banana plugs plugged into (looks like a transformer of some type) Do you still need to use the transformer and all the other Doo-dads that the power supply is plugged into? *** Could you do a video on how to cut the templates too. ***

The transformer was a previous device that is not used now due to the fact that it doesn't have the amperage. I just use the jacks on the board. I should just eliminate them, but I am lazy. Let me see if I can get a few minutes to do a video on the templates. They are super easy. Just trace, cut with a band saw, and sand. Two holes will let them be set to the wing with grabber screws. I just use Masonite or a thin piece of maple. It just needs to be hard and smooth.

I don't have access to a band saw, just a hack saw unfortunately. Do you have a specific shape you use more than others for your air foils? and also, how do you insure that they are pinned into the foam at the same place on differing sides? - Thanks for your assistance. Really dig your videos. Always very imformative.

SnapPunch Robert I just did a new video for you on templates. Has some great ideas and links to some airfoils. I will get more to you in the next few days. As to the pinning, when you cut the foam, the position is not important as it will still create a form that is the same throughout. I do, however, try to align them as best as I can. Thanks.

the foam is standard home insulation foam. I have used both white low density and the pink or blue high density foam. I prefer the high density due to its tougher nature.
