1:44 To be clear, Frieren said she was skeptical about the afterlife due to current magics being unable to observe dead souls, not that she saw it as stupid. It was the dwarves who hold to the "no life after death" tradition.

My favorite line in this episode is when Frieren says "I guess you're right... This is a normal reaction." It's Frieren realizing that her anger at Aura was for the same reason Himmel was angry at Frieren in the past: lack of respect for the dead; and through that, realizing that she has come to understand both herself and Himmel better.

IMO Kraft kind of shows us one possibility of where Frieren could end up after she goes through her full personal growth arc. Kraft seems to have gotten to the point where is in a state of non-attachment and has come to terms with the fact that pretty much everybody around him will die and he'll be forgotten over and over again, but doesn't let it bother him much. Instead, he lives in the moment and appreciates the now. He was shown to be nice to Stark and even train him, and he got to know Fern enough to know that she was raised by a priest and she is somewhat religious herself and even made a pendant for her, and both of them seemed to have taken a liking to him in return. But when he said his goodbyes he basically said, "See ya later after these kids have died, Frieren," because befriending someone and them passing away of old age before he ran into them again is probably something that has happened to him several times already.

I love that the Graf seems like a rough, hard person on appearances, but he's actually a very kind, honorable, and intelligent person. Actually, pretty much all the city leaders they encounter are decent people. There's no heavy corruption that you see in other series. I think it was meant to show that it is the age of peace that the party's defeat of the Demon King created.

i know it's a comedic gag that Stark passes out upon seeing the gardener, but I really like how it emphasizes Stark's character. Stark could easily retaliate, but it's really nice how he doesn't go against punishments and law. Such a pure-hearted man.

This is such a great palate-cleansing episode, but it still manages to feel significant, with the introduction of Kraft and the continuing evolution of Frieren's perspective on life now that she's more receptive to interpersonal relationships. This anime is, as they used to say in the music business, "all killer, no filler." And that song that plays as they're getting ready to leave the city - DAMN. It's so beautiful, and the way it ends on that shot of the memorial ceremony at the field of swords... CHILLS. And TEARS. So powerful.

Still can't figure it out, how can an anime be as masterful as Frieren. I've been watching anime for over 30 years, but I've rarely or never seen a series of such high quality in all respects.

Heiter listened to, remembered, and applied what she told him about her mana suppression. It's quite impressive.

you know the fun fact is, the guy with the axe that cut the trees and make stark affraid, that was for preparing the burials. the theory is they need the trees for coffins or they just cleared a yard because they need wide field for burial

The only male person Fern had ever been around was Heiter. Apart from that she's been constantly traveling with Frieren doing quests and whatnot. Suffice to say she hasn't had much social interactions with males so her perspective on them is very different. That's why she keeps referring to Stark and others as perverts, simply because she doesn't know better. This same reason also explains some of her behaviors later in the show. I wish they'd make that more obvious in the show because shockingly, a lot of people seem unable to comprehend her scenes.

I think you can see where this story is going. After Frieren, Fern and Stark make it to Ende/Heaven and say their true goodbyes to the people they have loved, the story will go on. I imagine we may see a montage of the years that follow, including Frieren being present at Fern's death. That will be heart-breaking, but it is the only real way to have this story make sense, I think.

Imagine having to go and get your driving license renewed every other month because the organization that manages it changes so often. That's probably how Frieren feels when it comes to all these new-fangled magic associations coming in with their own tests and licenses.

The entire Hero Party are Gamers. Himmel is the completionist (you'll see later), Heiter is the fun casual that sometimes passes out drunk in the raids, Eisen is the power gamer who's focused on the end boss (it's normal for a warrior / we should be working on fighting the DK, not doing x side quest), and Frieren is a Gatcha gammer loot goblin.
