Marshalled for Clarke one time and he was not a talker but just a good dude. Another vet leaves that carries the history and knowledge with them that will be lost for a long time if live image technology isn't regulated.

When Clark was about 19 years old and I was mid 30's we were fishing the same circuit and he gained my respect then. He was a great angler and so humble.

I saw your comment on IG with Thrift and Sprague in the boat together and Sprague freaking out over the trolling motor . "Somebody LET HIM SNAG ONE SO HE'LL CALM DOWN"😂😂. bro you a savage fool😂😂

Boy this is another blow to the soul for me, another hero gone. I’m 57 and there’s not but a few left. We will miss you Mr Wendlandt.

Clark is a great guy, kind of sad to see him go but I’m sure he’ll have a great retirement

FFS eliminates a lot of the luck factor in fishing, and in competition thats what we want, to be an actual sport instead of just gambling

Guy here at my small local lake had an old Fuji film colored ranger. He got rid of it last year but crazy to see. I also fished out of an old red and yellow ranger with bill hunter on chickamauga in a bass open a few years back. Do you remember which sponsor that boat was for?

How freakin awesome would it be to have Clark Wendlandt sit in the boat or fish with you and critique your process like a practice day and compare it to what it how'd have gone about different things

Hate to see Clark go. But I see his side of things. The sport is definitely changing and it will be interesting to see where it goes.

As much as I dislike BPT, I like what they did with FFS. It will be cool to see the strategy everyone uses.

Luke, I understand that you are pro “live scope”, or non-ban anything. In my opinion and most die-hard fan opinions. You need to listen to the past heroes of the sport!!!! 😢They understand that once you eliminate the outdoorsman’s skill from our beloved game, we have nothing. I love that kids look at the live scope and can relate. Problem is that is not how this sport was intended. The whole goal of professional bass fishing was to find someone that understood fish activity based on natural events. Then they could figure a way to trigger bites. Not put the trolling motor down and know if the area has fish!!!! NPFL has the right idea. As a spokesperson for the only tour that understands the purity of the sport your opinion is multiplied. I beg you to look deeper into the affects that “live scope” has on the professional tournaments you support. You are now one of three main talking heads of our sport. Please look into the past and future before expressing your views on this. You may not believe this, but you could be the reason Pro bass fishing ends as we know it. This was never a sport that gifted someone that used a computer to find fish. Goes against the “outdoor sport” name.

Unfortunately, it’s not up to us to determine what this sport was “intended for”. This is an argument as old as time. Whether that’s in sports, music, media, etc. Things always advance and change. Sometimes for the good, sometimes not, but it’s not my place to tell a 20 year old that his way of enjoying bass fishing is wrong because it’s not the same as mine or yours. I say all of that respectfully or course. I know that it is dominant. I watch, and cover more of the sport than most. I’ll agree that it gets old that there’s no variety in techniques and lures. But I’ve stated a lot over the years that if we start banning one piece of tech we need to just get rid of all of them. Spot locking trolling motors, power poles, side imaging, mapping, etc. Because they ALL play a gigantic role in taking away “purity”. Fishing was probably the most pure before anybody figured out how to monetize it. Sad, but true. Thank you for your opinion.

Bass fishing has turned into a video game, real fisherman don't want to look and play a video game!!

Lot of respect for Clark but he has to realize how dumb he sounds when he says he wishes NY and CA would ban FFS. Can you imagine wishing for NY and CA to do something? Retiring, but sounding like a crybaby on his way out.

I believe all these old pros are getting bought out of the Elites so MLF guys can come back.
