This song is what I consider Alter Bridge's masterpiece song. The song was inspired lyrically by a friend of Myles Kennedy named Mark Morse. He sold Myles his first guitar when he was a kid, and they stayed friends for years and years. Mark passed away right as that song was being completed so it was dedicated to him and his memory. The best of version IMO is Live at Amsterdam. Check it out on your own. Myles talks about the making of this song in a KZbin video.
