Based on WALDEON FERREIRA's work!
{warning} 1:32The selection of material cuts for this scene should use a sled
This jig needs an improvement using a spring, maybe! !
(Thanks to those who gave me this advice)
This tool is technically impractical, ideally a spring-operated bearing or a little clearance between the material and the bearing, one of the causes of kickback
If you make this tool, consider that point.

I love how sometimes at the start I'm not sure what you're building, then at the end it's like a Big Reveal when you show how it is to be used. This little jig seems to serve two obvious purposes: as a sort of featherboard and as a secondary fence for repeatable cuts. I have a thin-strip jig that works well, but this one looks like it could do just as well while also serving multiple functions. Great work, and great video!

Well I have to admit I wasnt expecting a type of featherboard, nice one though ant not plastic like my ones, but at least i printed mine out of nylon and designed them. -its good to see the use of the sled in combination with the table saw, a lot of people just use it to cross cut and thats it and some carpenters I talk to dont even know that you can make a perfect circle of wood with a sled and table saw and are genuinely surprised when I show them how, Its a very versatile and safe addition to working with a table saw, why the manufacturers dont supply them is beyond me. Mind you its fun to make them and true them up. Thanks, it was nice to watch. great handmade clamps as well.

Mach weiter so - Rudi Unfortunately, there are always people who have something to complain about if someone makes an effort to report on their successful project. I had to find this out in another format here in Germany. If you looked at what the critics had already posted, you could occasionally find that they had never published a single post. But complaining about others is always possible. I am happy to find suggestions, techniques and tools for one or the other of my projects here or in other formats. Keep it up - Rudi

Great, this is the first time I saw this. Imediable I thought, why not making a tube over the barings? It will fit different thicknesses without losing push strength. Very well done, ingenius Willy from Belgium. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Very nice idea and well made, I might try this with a short arm rad roller with a high-density foam sleeve instead of the roller bearings, it would take seconds to change the sleeve from a 4" to a 6" for higher cut stability and no issue with clogging and cheaper to build, it would not be as pretty as yours though.

Good job. Make the bearing section pivot indepently from the main body (spring loaded) that way you do not have to constantly adjust for minor board widths. That is how I have made them in the past, but using metal....easier.

I gave you a Thumbs Up because I like the nice array of wood worker's Jigs, fixtures and clamps. They're all worthy of being called a craftsman's work. Unfortunately, despite how nicely you made this table saw fixture I don't see it out performing "Feather Boards" that have been used on table saws since their inception. In fact, ... Feather Board's provide the extra benefit of reducing "Kickback". They're also a hell of a lot easier to make! Cheaper too! ;-)) Wakodahatchee Chris

I like this kind of jigs, I would probably have added a couple of millimetres of spring to the bearing shaft. That way you can ensure to always have sufficient but not to much pressure even if the material isn't 100% straight. Well done!
