I'm so happy that the world will have another spinner. I find that it really adds a new dimension of understanding and joy to my knitting.

Squee! You ordered your wheel! How exciting❤ I can’t wait to see the Shizen, I added it to my never ending queue. I think yours will be so lovely. Your parenting chats just hit my heart. I hope our children can learn sooner than I did that differences are something to celebrate. I hope things are going ok for you guys there ❤❤❤ Annalie has been very aware of how people see her for some time, but she also still tucks her leggings into wacky colorful socks which is like her own thing lol.

I enjoy all you share in your podcasts., knitting goodies, yarns, family , etc. Your knits are beautiful and the thought process you go through is interesting. I'm an avid reader and want to recommend The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens as a possible read for you . Keep on podcasting all the goodness.

Hi Leena! I always admire the colors you choose and the shawl is really coming out beautifully. I also like the top you are making. Really nice. 😊

I'm so excited for you, Leena! I hope you love your wheel. I didn't have anyone near me to help guide me, so there were some frustrating moments in the beginning, but once you get the rhythm and feel, it is so lovely. I cannot recommend highly enough Jacey Boggs Faulkner's Drafting from Worsted to Woolen class on Craftsy. It is probably the class I have learned the most from, and she's such a great teacher. She is the editor of Ply magazine. I have been knitting for close to 15 years, and I learned so much about yarn after I started spinning that I feel like I will make better choices, even with commercial yarns.

Hi! I am so happy to hear that you found your way on your spinning journey. I am 100% signing up for Craftsy to take these classes. They have so many-from beginner to advanced. I love being able to learn at home at my own pace. Classes are expensive and hard to find! Thank you for your advice!!

Love that new Purl Soho shawl. I'm currently knitting the Artus in Linen Quill. I got 4 of their new colors and I'm using the most springy color palette ever! I'm using Bright Mint, Pale Celery, Magnolia Blossom, Golden Green and Peony Pink. I'm in my knitting happy place!

GORGEOUS!!! I love all those colors so much. Pale celery is the perfect neutral. I love the Artus, dying to make it someday!

Hi Leena, you made me to start working on the Shizen pullover with Linen Quell from my stash!! The construction is very interesting and engaging. It is funny that the same thing happened to my shoulder braids like yours. While I was watching this episode, I was working on joining the front and back with the braid… this time, I tighten each stitches and works out right to the point it might tighten the whole pullover 😂. Also, I dońt know how it happened the braid is inside out . The adventurer continues.

Yay! I’m so glad you started on this sweater as well! It is unique and fun but in a very manageable way. I’m not surprised that tightening it tightened the body…that was my concern! But as you said, its another knitting adventure and you always come away with new skills and knowledge.

i'm not a mom, but i always say I like kids most once they're old enough to have experienced a bit of the world as your daughter seems to have. It's nice talking about those more relatable problems. Sometimes a kid brings a new perspective to old feelings or gets you to slow down and think about your past or you just get the joy of knowing that your chat will have a real impact on how they choose to navigate adult life.

This is so true! I totally agree. I hadn’t thought about the fact that she will bring new perspectives to my own wounds…that’s so lovely. Growing up in a new generation and a new world, she is sure to experience all these feelings differently. Thank you for understanding! Sometimes I feel guilty for loving the older ages more than the innocence of their early years.

Thank you Paula!! And yay for the Shizen! What colorway did you start yours with? I am wearing the Lace and Fade Boxy by Joji Locatelli. The yarn is Wandering Flock in the colorway Mermaid Parade! It’s such a beautiful and wearable sweater. I want to make another in a neutral color.

The last row of clue 4 of 24 birds she says to knit and remove the markers .......but I didn't because it just keeps me on track. Maybe on 12 birds version she didn't have you remove them? Not sure why. Nonetheless I leave them in. Good luck!

I tried to knit with Sparrow and it was like knitting with wire. I need to try it again.

I'm working on Clue 5 as I watch your episode. Within a couple of repeats I knew I needed stitch markers for this row, Row 150. Did you end up using stitch markers? I can't stop thinking about trying that Silky Banana yarn. Nomad Noos has kits for the Shizen. I just emailed them, because their price includes VAT, a tax in that part of the world. They confirmed that that tax would be deducted from an order to here in North America. If it's not deducted, they would reimburse it. I really shouldn't order anything at this time 🙄🙄😬😬😬

Update....lol, I have ordered a kit from Nomad Noos! I love their statement on their website about their mission and ethics.

Hi Sandra! That’s amazing! Please lmk how you like it. It’s such a unique yarn and the colorways are absolutely gorgeous! Hope you are loving Clue 5. I didn’t end up using stitch markers, mostly because this clue is really straightforward and I seem to be staying on track. Can’t believe clue 6 is this week! It has flown!
