I think you could have the makings of a "So you bought someone's project." video series. There's a lot of half finished builds out there in need of a new home and they could be a more approachable starting point for some then just a set of drawings a raw castings.
@MattChiversWorkshop

Hi Tim, I really like that idea, thank you, and you are 100% correct there are many part built projects out there. Many that probably will never get finished. All the Best, Matt 👍🚂

Hi Matt, looking forward to seeing some of the machining videos, I have a 7.25” Sweet William, that I started building with a friend a while ago unfortunately my friend is no longer able to help, and he was the engineer! I’m no engineer or machinist but I want to pickup the project and try and do it myself, so it’s going to be an interesting task!!! Like you I have some parts already made and some that need repairs or finishing!
@MattChiversWorkshop

Hi Mark, I think that there are many projects like that, most will end up in scrap, which is a shame. Having the desire to finish the project is all you need to get it done, learning how to do it along the way is the fun part, and the finished project at the end is the reward. My suggestion for finishing the Sweet William is having the ability to view a finished one, constantly, then you can refer to it for reference to how it should be, plus most builders are happy to advice. It's what I do on the Tink build, and this one I look after its sister at the club, so I can reference a working one. And there are plenty of us KZbin channels to watch for inspiration and guidance too! All the best, Matt 👍🚂

There's a guy in Fleetwood area had an air running chassis and copper boiler kit for sale recently
@MattChiversWorkshop
@MattChiversWorkshop 3 ай бұрын
Hi Dave, Yeah I’ve seen a few for sale in recent times, hence why I’m going to go completely off drawings when it comes to the bodywork so mine doesn’t look like the rest. Until this year there were 3 at my club, down to two now. All the best, Matt. 👍🚂

Is your first name Glutton Mr Punishment? (More positively, may well be able to provide the ME's covering the build if it would help...) Looking forward to seeing the two builds progressing.

Ohh I'm only just starting 😂, I've got more stupidly impulsive ideas to come!! I have all the ME's..... I acquired a large collection of the magazines...... there is a great number of articles that show the work for a Kerr Stuart Joffre/Haig that I find interesting! 😂 All the best, Matt 👍🚂

Hi Julia, ohh I've definitely run out of space, wait until you see what else I've bought 😂. Maybe I should have gone down the 5" gauge route, these 7 1/4" locos take up a lot of space!! All the best, Matt 👍🚂

I knew you’d say it 😂😂! I’m going mainly for inspiration from, mainly cab, tank profile and smokebox. If I can produce the vision I have in my head for it, I think it could be a bonnie wee thing which is easy to transport around than the Tinkerbell. All the best, Matt 👍🚂

@@MattChiversWorkshop Couldn't resist 😂😂 I've built most of the cab for mine, laser cut them years ago when I couldn't do machining, let me know if you want some sizes. The cutting files are still in our database
