It was one of the first questions I had when I watched your last video. I watched an interview with Mac McCormick from the early '90s. He described in detail what happened on the day he met up with the person that supposedly killed Robert Johnson. He never gave a name.

Any idea if it was the same man at the pool hall?

@@Ryan-kw7gj I don't think I am familiar with that story. I have the book but haven't started it just yet.

Mac's research is beyond deep! I can not wait to see if if my theory is correct and not about a juke joint owner but someone closer to Baptist Town.

I just finished the book. No interview with the murderer. A man “visiting from Flint” was mentioned as having known Robert Johnson. Said he was jealous that he was going with a girl he liked. I kept waiting for him to reappear. Never did.

Yeah. I was disappointed that it wasn't included. In the afterword, the editor talked about why it wasn't included. He mentioned McCormick interviewed the man (The editor stated the man's name, but I can't remember it off hand) he believed murdered Johnson in '75. The editor then stated that they couldn't verify it as true. IMO, I wish they had just included the information, added an editors note, and then let both the readers and scholars decide for themselves whether it was true or not. (I wouldn't stay that for everything excluded) Thanks

I am an avid RJ researcher for 20 years, and I do own a piece of Blues literature (from the 80's) that does have this interview, and Does give the man's name, but Only his first name.

@@StillLivinTheBlues Personally, I just prefer to keep some things private (like actual crossroads location... supposed murder suspect, etc.) To answer your Q, the article was from Living Blues mag 1982. (I luckily scored this copy about 7 years ago...) -great article. There's one for sale right now online. $15!
